lurker form Aug 13

I know you ladies probably get this a lot but how do you co sleep safely? I never thought I would be one for co sleeping but that is the direction we are moving toward. Any advice would be helpful. My little one is almost five weeks. Thanks

  • What we did when DS was little was put the mattress on the floor and keep blankets at our waist. We did keep our pillows (I honestly don't know how people sleep without them!).

Here are some of the things you can do to make the family bed safe:

  • I have a firm crib mattress wedged into the corner of the room, and then a regular twin mattress right up against it. I sleep with my front half on the crib mattress so that I can be close to the baby, but most of my body weight is on the twin.

I keep both of us dressed warmly enough that we only need a light blanket at our waist, and I bunch up my pillow so that theres no possible way it could get near her face.
