Feeling a little discouraged

Went to my OBGYN appt yesterday. We are on the road to a diagnosis. I just felt discouraged with the lack of urgency from the doctor. She is going to work with me for 6 more months doing the normal blood work and ordering an HSG, sending DH for a sperm analysis...prescribing the clomid all the while. But with my insurance (Kaiser) you have to see if they have an appointment during the right time of my cycle. Same with the labs. I wish they could make these appointments a priority for women >35 who've been TTC more more than 6 months. I just feel like every month that passes is another one down the drain...wasted. If I go with her plan and wait the 6 months w/ no BFP, I'll be 37 when I go see the RE. I'm bummed.

On the other hand, I'm feeling relieved that we are moving toward a solution.

I'm sorry you're discouraged. I hope that you receive some answers during this holding pattern. And better yet - good luck for not even needing to visit the RE!

I am sorry... OBGYNS stink at working with TTC because that isn't their specialty. But I understand if you are using insurance why you are stuck. Hang in there

Thanks ladies for your words of encouragement. As I go around this board I see you both are experts and the go-to answer ladies. While being an expert isn't necessarily a good thing here, it's an honor that you take the time out to respond with such great encouragement despite your situations.

I see your OB wants to prescribe clomid, please please make sure you are being monitored while on it. It can cause cycts and such, do you know if you are ovulating?

Can't you just go to a RE? (or do you need a referral?).

I was not monitored this round of clomid. My OB doesn't do that. And I can't go to an RE until I'm referred, unless I want to pay out of pocket. I'm not ovulating regularly. I'm on CD 19 and still haven't O'd...as far as I can tell. I use OPK's, have never gotten a positive. I don't do bbt's because I sleep/wake at odd times.

If I don't get a BFP this cycle, then the OB is sending me to get cd 3 bw then for the HSG and then getting my DH's SA done. I just hope this cycle is the only one I need!
