11 hrs of labor and still going :(

Still going, still going!! Only at a 2 and contractions are happening every minute. Slowed down the pitocin so the only happen every 2-3minutes instead but dang! This is a stubborn little baby boy. Wonder if doc will break my water if nothing happens? Hubby only has 2 days off so this baby needs to come now!

    I'm a little confused, my ob broke my water first and then started pitocin. Which in my case still didn't help, 20 hours of labor and I ended up having a cesarean. LO got majorly stuck.

    Holy crap! I'll stop complaining lol those are crazy times! And ya, she hasn't said one thing about breaking my water. Just keeps adjusting the pitocin and to walk walk walk.

    Are you rocking the epidural or handling the big P (pit) w/out meds?

    Do they have a yoga ball? Those things are magic to help your cervix. Also, if you jump in the shower (the water is amazing) and do some squats that can help.

    Most likely they won't break your water until 4 or 5cm at least. They have to have the cervix open enough to get in there & take care of it. You want to do a lot of your labor before that though so baby gets good & low with cushion.

    I was In labor for 34+hrs with my first and 2 1/2 hrs of pushing. I did over 24hrs with no epi because I was stuck at two and they wouldn't give me one. That sucked!

    It will hopefully be over soon.

    I would love to ask her but she's gone home for the night. And all I've been told I'm allowed to do is the laboring ball which is amazing but then they can't ever record any contractions when I'm on it so then I'm told to walk and a few pop up. And I have the stupid binder on so now shower :( (And no meds so far so I am hoping I can keep going that way!

    The birthing class I took suggested that you wait as long as possible to break the water as it doesn't statistically shorten labor by much (30 min to 1 hour) and makes contractions more painful. I don't have personal experience with this. Hope your labor has progressed and you have your baby by now!

    I was stuck at a 3 for about 10 hours and they suggested an epi. I was having constant contractions so I gave in, it was bad enough that I was having trouble breathing even and I hoped it would relax me and help get things going. Things progressed quickly after that, I went up to a 9 in about 5 hours so for me the epi actually helped. But then was stuck there for another 5 hours until the cesarean...

    I just had LO in Friday morning. I was 3 cm and 80% effaced when they started the pit, it was 1030 pm. At 3 am I was begging for the epi (actually around 2ish, it just took the them awhile to get to me) my contractions were right on top of each other. I was checked 30 mins later, still 3 cm, but 100% effaced, they broke my water. 5.5 hours later LO was born, I dont know if I was able to dialate more because my water broke or because tje epi allowed me to relax.
    BFP #1 11/27/11 EDD 08/08/12 M/C 01/27/12 12 wks 2 days
    BFP #2 04/25/12 EDD 01/04/13(?) confirmed ectopic 05/16/12 6 wks 5 days 2 doses of MTX-Lost left tube on 05/25/12 Back to TTC, earlier than originally expected.
    BFP #3 01/05/13 EDD 09/17/13 u/s 1/24/13-great appt, measuring 2 days ahead, NT scan 3/11/13-great scan measuring 4 days ahead, A/S 4/29/13-another great scan can't wait to meet my baby BOY!!!!!

    I was in labor for 48 hours at home before they would admit me...12 hours with epi once admitted....it is worth it. Didn't seem like it at the time, but it is! Good luck and stay strong!
