Elective ultrasound results!!! Spotting 16-17 weeks and 17P questions? (Pip)

I posted this in February too sorry if you read twice, I'm right on the border!!!! On Friday I had an elective ultrasound where I found out I am having my second boy! My DH was so happy he cried, best moment of this pregnancy so far!!!! I also found out that I have an anterior placenta which makes me feel better bc I am not sure I have felt him moving yet. Then on Saturday I started spotting with sharp pains, went to the ER and they found my baby's heartbeat, checked my urine, and sent me home with instructions to follow up with primary care doctor for abdominal pain? Never even asked me for my OBs name. Needless to say I was less than happy with my experience. Well the spotting has stopped but the pain continues. My nurse came yesterday for my 17P shot and informed me to call my doctor and report my concerns to them. They have me on rest till everything stops. If it does not I have to get an ultrasound. So my question after all this is has anyone else had spotting around 16-17 weeks and if so what was the outcome? Any other ladies with 17P how is that going? It was not as bad as I thought! Hope everyone is feeling great! Happy ending is that my little boy seems to still be ok in there!!!! I will update when pain goes away or I have an ultrasound!!!!

    I had a good amount of bleeding last night. More than just spotting. I went to the Dr. this am and baby was ok. They think I have a partial placenta previa and it could be causing it. 

    Congrats on the boy!

    My doctor said you could spot throughout your pregnancy.  I'm 16 weeks and have had light spotting regularly along with period-like cramping.  My doctor said both are very normal.  I've had 2 ultrasounds and the baby is doing great. 

    You should have concern if the spotting is heavy like your period or if cramping is more severe than normal menstral cramps.
