How to avoid sun in the car

Ok DD is 17 months and still rear facing in the car- we just got a new car seat- the old graco snug ride had the canopy that we always used - 5 days a week we drive to and from daycare- sun blaring So today the sun was directly In Her face and she kept covering her face, rubbing her eyes and crying!! I felt so bad Are there any cool gadgets that can help me with this??? I thought sun glasses - but I don't think she'll keep them on.... I have a shade on the door /window next to her but the sun is coming thru the back window

  • no suggestions just in the same boat.  We have bought shades but the stretch ones that say they cover a large area don't stay on.  It sucks.

  • If you already have a window cling, I'm not sure what else you can do. There's not any fancy gadget or anything.

We've taught DD to put her blanket over her head when the sun is in her face. She was about 2 when she started to do it, but it may be worth a try for your LO.

  • You could tint the windows in your car.  DH had my vehicle tinted shortly before DD was born and it has helped a lot with the sun.  Plus, the car stays cooler when it is sitting in the sun.

  • I have had about 5+ different brands of 'shades' for the side windows........the only ones that lasted and are still up are the eddie bauer ones. It is like tint of the side windows for 10 bucks. The back window has a rear sun shade. LO has also learned to wear her sungalsses, she takes them off all the time but then yells and figures out how to put them back on
