Help us with sippy cups

So, I got 2 sippy cups when she turned 6 months. We give her water in them. They are the Nuk brand. She can get the water out but it just dribbles down her front. Is this her weird problem or do others have issues with this too? She gets it right sometimes, sometimes it's soaking her front. Should we try a different kind?

  • We don't have this issue with our sippy cups.  Also, getting LO to use the straw sippy was the best decision.  Now when we are out at places, he will just drink from anything with a straw. We use this one: https://www.amazon.com/Zo-li-Bot-Straw-Sippy-Cup/dp/B0031E1GEG

  • If I give D a sippy cup with water he just lets it dribble out of his mouth.

  • Have you tried putting formula/BM in the sippy?  I found DD would take one better once we tried that first.  I think she's not use to the taste of water, or excepted formula.  She still doesn't drink much water, but she can pound a sippy of formula.

We have several nuby sippys that have worked well.

  • I would cry if I saw her dribble my BM all down the front. But I could try it.

  • Just start with a little bit and see.  Maybe less than an ounce. Just enough to see if she can figure it out.

  • We use a straw sippy or she just drinks out of my water with a straw. O still gets water all over her sometimes.

  • I do the avent trainer spouts that go with the Avent bottles and the Playtex trainer straw cup. He's not a fan of the sippy spouts at all. Kid has a plastic aversion. He will only drink water out of them and half the time it's dribbling down his front. Basically they don't know how much to take into their mouths and how to swallow before removing the cup. We've been using them since 6 months off and on and he's just now getting to where he can drink without wearing it all. He does pretty good with the straw cup most of the time but the sippy cup is a disaster 80% of the time :). He's also started taking drinks and then blowing raspberries. I'm guessing he probably picked it up from a kid at daycare since he just started that the week after he started.

  • N uses a straw cup.
But he will dribble any beverage if its cold.
It has to be room temperature water, or warm milk for him to drink it.

  • Straw cups seemed to solve that problem for us.

Bought a couple from target that look like this:

Ok. We found these on amazon and ordered 3. I hope these work a bit better. They are a bit pricey :S
