Morning sickness

Sorry, I try to avoid April 14 for the most part. I didn't have m/s with tucker but this time around its in full force. I get sick at least once a day, usually twice, and feel nauseous for hours. My dr prescribed b6 and unisom and it only worked for a few days. How long us thus going to last?!?! Any secrets besides ginger ale, preggie pops, sucking on candy, crackers, etc? I haven't kept my dinner down in 6 weeks ugh.

Re: Morning sickness

  • Ask him to prescribe you zofran. It was the only thing that saved me. Hope it eases up soon.

  • I second slurpees.  They really helped with the nausea.  The Indian guys at our 7-11 got to know DH really well last time...
  • I don't have any good advice on this but I wanted to say that I hope it passes quickly or that you can find a good solution that works! No fun chasing a toddler while being sick :( hang in there!

  • I don't have too much advice, but one thing that helped me was eating a cracker or two before I got out of bed. That would help get through the morning shower at least. Lol.

  • My Dr prescribed Phenergen (?) it took the edge off but did not completely eliminate the nausea. I felt better around 14 weeks and was back to normal 16-17 weeks.  I hope you feel better soon!
  • Thanks for the help! Do you usually have to specifically ask for something like Zofran?  I've brought up how miserable I am at 3 appointments now and no doctor has said anything besides the b6/unisom and the other usuals like crackers and ginger. wahhh!

I had to ask for it and almost demand it.  I told the OB/nurses I was miserable but they kinda blew me off.  I guess since they deal with pregnant women all the time they are immune to them complaining about morning sickness.
  • I actually got well acquainted with non-alcoholic ginger beer. It's like ginger ale on steroids, it's much stronger but really felt good on my stomach when I was nauseous. Hope it gets better soon for you.

Even a minor event in the life of a child is an event of that child's world and thus a world event.
