Walking? (Rusalka)

When did your LO(s) start walking? DD is 13 months and while she'll cruise along the furniture, she's still far from steady when we "walk" with her. I know we've got time before this is a thing I need to worry about, but I do so love to worry.

J walked at 12m, 8.5m adjusted. S walked at 14.5m, 12m adjusted. Kids really do develop differently! It's totally in the normal realm not to walk at 13m, as long as she's cruising. J rushed into it and fell a TON, S waited until he was super confident he could do it and hardly fell.

I put between 13-15, but it was actually between 12 and 13 months.. and, the first time he walked, he just took off.. was literally almost running! But, it was like 7pm when he took his first steps, so he went to bed shortly after.. and then when he woke up, it was like he totally forgot he could do it! It was well over a week before he walked again.. crazy! The second time is when he really "got" it, and then there was no turning back.

I agree with PP's.. every kid is different.. Miss E will get there

12.5 months. He kept building on it a few steps more each day and has never looked back.

DS was cruising at 9-10 months until I bought him a push toy (it was a lion on wheels with a seat that could convert to a handle for them to stand behind and push). That did the trick and he wad independent before 11mo.

DS #1 started walking 11 days after his first birthday. DS #2 started walking at almost 14 months.

DD started walking the week before she turned 13m. She had been cursing for about 3 months before that. I know it's super hard not to worry, but every kid really dose develop at their own pace.

Have you tried putting furniture pieces close enough together for her to reach out and take 1-2 steps but not so far away that it scares her?

DD was cruising like you are describing at 12 months, and then around 12m1w she started taking 1-2 steps between things, and 1 week later she was "walking".

She will go between the couches and the coffee table, but doesn't let go. I'll keep an eye on her, thought!
