October 2013 Moms

Are you getting any sleep?

Between having to wake up completely to roll over because of the pain, to baby waking me up with hiccups, getting leg cramps, having to get up to pee every hour and having insomnia...I'm getting no sleep!!!!! I seriously feel exhausted all the time. Feeling Zombie-like!

Occasional naps during the day are my bff's lately!

I really hope my bitchiness goes away. Lol

  • I can't remember what that's like...

  • I'm getting less and less sleep thanks to the hip pain, bathroom trips, DD waking up, and not being able to get comfy. Unfortunately, I don't get to nap during the day.

  • Sleep ... Heard of it before...
  • I NEVER nap, but the last 3 days I have had off work, I have fallen asleep on the couch around lunch time. Then come bedtime, and I am not tired.

Then I finally fall asleep, and like clockwork every 2-3 hours I am up to pee.

  • I've been eating more potatoes than I usually do, which is helping with the leg cramps a lot!
I do have to get up to pee and often my acid reflux keeps me up, even with medicine. And I can't sleep past about 5:30 in the morning.

  • I feel bad for the H from me grunting and groaning every time I roll over I wake him up. I can't help it, that shiz is painful. A bone? Muscle? In my crotch pops all the time.

  • Oh man I wish I could nap. Between SPD, PUPP rash, and peeing constantly I don't get much sleep. Good preparation for when LO is actually here.

I had the worst HB last night. I thought I would exhale fire. Omg...no meds helped either. I can't imagine having that all the time. My meds usually work pretty well.

  • Even with Ambien, I'm not sleeping. I'm up every night till at least 2am. I think my body is just preparing itself for this little night owl that beats the crap out of me every night.

Oh man, I'm sorry. I wanted to scratch my skin off today from just my skin itching a little, I couldn't imagine dealing with that. We're almost there though!! :)

I elbowed DH in the face last night while trying to turn over.

It doesn't help that lately he's taken to holding me really tight at night. I end up on the edge of the bed and then he gets right behind me in his sleep and I have no room to roll over.

I get that popping too - what the hell is it?!

  • I feel ya! I can't sleep at all. The minute I dose off I get heartburn or feel like throwing up. I take meds to help control it but it doesn't always work.
  • @zenjenjen

I don't know but it freaks me the hell out. The first time it happened, I thought my water broke. LOL

  • I was just thinking, its only 9pm but I would kill to flop in bed and sleep. Granted it would be more like crawl, and then insomnia for hours. But its a nice dream. A manager asked me how I was today, and I said fucking tired, I can't get comfortable any more and everything hurts. He felt the need to tell me "just wait." Dude, I'm gonna run you over with a car, I am well aware that this is just the beginning.

  • My sleep is pretty sporadic, but luckily I'm not working and I just keep going back to sleep until I've gotten 8 hours of sleep. But I really need to remember to ask my OB for strong acid reflux meds! I'm tired of waking up having to puke in the middle of the night!

  • Some nights I sleep pretty well, other then peeing every 3 hours, but lately I'm up around 3 am for hours then can't sleep past 6, even on the days I don't have to work. Blah, not fun! My mind turns on and makes lists and my body just hurts! Then people tell you how you're never going to sleep again once LO comes! So annoying people!

  • Sleep? That's a negative.

  • I can get to sleep ok, but up at 1:30am to pee, again at 3:30 to pee, then I generally struggle getting back to sleep until just before my alarm goes off at 5:45 am. So glad tomorrow is my last day of work before maternity leave, needing naps to make up for the missed sleep at night.
  • Working night shift tonight so I am awake. Today when I should have been sleeping I think I got a total of 2 hours worth.  Ugh.... going to try to take a serious nap tomorrow.

  • I am getting a couple of good hours a night. But I sleep on the couch propped up in the corner so my heartburn isn't as bad.

I dream of sleepin, especially on my stomach.

  • Amelia is currently super congested so ni sleep for me tonight. I miss my insomnia days when I would at least get an hour or two of shut eye.
  • I feel like I'm sleeping all the time. But it's all broken up into few hour long stretches. Then I am up for a few hours before crashing out again. My days off are completely wasted lying in bed! But laying down is really the most comfortable position

  • I feel exactly the same! I have the worst insomnia as it is and then all these pregnancy symptoms to go along with it! So that's what that constant pumping in the side of my stomach is? Baby hiccups haha so crazy. Hope you feel better and don't worry about bitchiness, we've all been there! :)
  • Besids everything hurting right now, DH is snoring like a freaking freight train... Again. Just when I think I can get a little sleep...

  • Well it's 1:30 am here in Wisconsin. Went to bed at 9:30 and zonked out. Woke up for a pee break and went back to bed. DH woke me at 1 to tell me I was making weird noises. Peed again and realized I was starving. Ate a yogurt but then realized we have pumpkin spice hershey kisses. Oh boy.
  • Most nights I wake up every 2 hours to pee. In bed, I sleep but generally can't fall into a really deep sleep and toss and turn a lot of the night.

Tonight, I slept for 2 hours and now I can't sleep at all or even stay in bed. I'm having some more "real" contractions. I can't decide if I should start timing, if they're really getting bad, if I'm just hungry, if it'll stop if I go to the bathroom....

With DD, I slept much more after she was born than during pregnancy.

Edit because for some reason my post only showed quoted text

When I was at birthing classes the nurse told me that the reason our hips are popping is because they are softening for childbirth and when we move a certain way it's like cracking our knuckles.
  • I am getting sleep but it is very broken up.  I'm not sure I'm really getting REM sleep since I am still tired in the morning or it could be because I'm still pregnant.

Every time someone tells me how it's going to get worse or I should sleep now, I seriously want to punch them in the throat. Of course it's going to get worse!! Shut the fuck up!
