How do you find new boards/groups?
I'm attempting to find a carseat board or something, where I can ask some questions. Also suggestions from ladies here would be appreciated.
My sister has a son who was born June 1st, 2013 he is already 25inches tall and 18 pounds. He will be growing out of his infant carrier very soon. She is looking for an inexpensive convertible carseat as finances are tough for them.
We are looking for an extended rearfacing carseat on the lower end of a price range. It would be ideal if it had recline positions (much like my nextfit, but she simply cannot afford such seat).
If you could include the seat you have, price you paid and pros/cons of it I would greatly appreciate it!
Re: Question about site and carseat help
If you are on your computer (not sure about mobile), you can find other boards near the top right. It says Choose another board and there is a drop down menu below it. If you pick The Bump Message Boards, you get the whole list. I don't know of a car seat one, though.
As for convertible seats, we have the Cosco Scenera, which we got at Wal-Mart for $40. The crash test rating was excellent, according to Consumer Reports. DD didn't outgrow it rear-facing until she was 2.5 years, when she got too tall (36 in).
But they make a version for more extended rear-facing, which is only a little more expensive ($65 at Wal-Mart, and I think I saw it for under $50 at K-Mart). It is the Cosco Scenera 40RF. I believe it RF until 40 lbs and 40 in.
Here is the link to it on walmart.com: https://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_query=Cosco+Scenera+40rf&adid=22222222220193122144&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=e&wl1={network}&wl2=&wl3={creative}&wl4={aceid}
ETA: We have a basic Scenera for each kid. DD (who is 3) FFs in hers, and DS still RFs in it (and should be able to for at least another year). Obviously we liked it well enough to buy it again.
