Musical enrichment fail

I played my fiddle quite a bit while pregnant. C would kick vigorously, so I thought he liked it.

Daycare was cancelled today, and C has been a little extra pouty thanks to a bottom tooth coming in. I pulled out the fiddle, thinking it would distract him / be enjoyable (he likes music in general).

Nope. Cue quavering lower lip, extra wide eyes, and then an all-out wail. Guess I was torturing him for nine months in utero.

I play violin and played it all the time while pregnant. She would kick a lot, especially for Mozart and Beethoven. But now she seems a little scared of it and I think it's because it's so loud. My husband plays mandolin and she loves that, as well as guitar, but both of those can't match the volume of a violin!

Yeah, maybe its the volume. I bet he likes it... he just doesn't understand it yet

Good point about the volume. I'll give him some time...maybe it won't be so scary when he's older.

I got this same result from the vacuum the other day. And we know how much they all loved that noise as newborns. I think it's a phase.
