Deb became brain dead after being shot. Dexter basically left his kid to Hannah (the blond) and said he would meet them in Argentina. Dexter pulled the plug on Deb and dumped her in the ocean. He made it seem like he died too. At the very end very randomly they showed him in a logging yard as a logger? The end.
Disappointing, yes, however I was thinking afterward that they really couldn't have let him die... I like that they still have a happy ending in Hannah and Harrison.. Deb's line was a bit too dramatic, but tied the ends there... In all it was just "eh"...
I thought it was just me! It was OK for a season finale but not for the series finale! It was just so random and unsuspensful. I was certain he was going to die and kind of wished he would of so it would of been closure. So disappointing. I hope Ray Donovan finale is better
I said the same thing to my H. I thought it needed to appear he had died but thought he would have gone to Hannah and Harrison, not a big fan of the abandoning his son aspect.
I need to watch the Ray Donovan season finale tonight....
Dexter finale was annoying. I get that they were trying to get across that he couldn't deal with the real emotions of loss and caring for people (since the pain of losing Deb was too much), and that he thought he destroyed everyone he loved with what he was, but that doesn't jive with the whole point of his relationship with Hannah since he cant "ruin her" since she is already as f@cked up as he is.
That is why ending up with Hannah would have made sense, him jumping ship on their relationship was stupid.
Yea, like the writers gave up. So Saxton has been a problem all season... lets just have him get arrested and Dexter kills him with a pencil. That was wrapped up weakly. The scenes of Deb and him in the nursery? That was filler. Just a rushed, lack of effort ending.
I mean were they going for that he realizes that he could love someone after all and did have emotion? Because that ship sailed a long time ago. When Harrison and Hannah came into the picture, they showed love and emotion.

It didn't make sense, seemed like a cop out.
