Early Labor

I'm 38 weeks 4 days along and a FTM. I've been having almost constant menstrual like cramps all morning, with a bit of lower back pain and an almost constant need to use the bathroom (sorry if TMI). Should I call my doctor? I can't really time the cramps since they are pretty steady and have been drinking water all morning long. Thanks for any advice you can offer!

Yesterday I was having cramps but it was cause I needed to poop. And I am not in labor yet. If it would calm you call your Dr and see what they have to say.

My early labor pains felt like period cramps. You could be in the early stages of labor

I wouldn't call or go in until the pain becomes more severe or if it lasts for quite a few more hours. Take this time to get some last minute things done and try to distract yourself as much as possible. Trust me, you don't want to be sitting in the hospital for any longer than you have to by going in too soon!

Thanks, all, I did check in with my doctor and she told me to keep an eye on things and give a call if there was any bleeding, increased discharge, visual changes, the baby starts moving less, headaches, etc. I do appreciate everyone's advice, thank you.

I have had all these same pre-labor signs for a week and a half now. But my cramps and lower back pain come and go.
