Can I get your input?

First, I realize none.of you have a magic crystal ball you can look into tell me the answer so I am just as king for an opinion.

Tomorrow I have my first appointment @ 10:30. With my hx I had assumed they would do an u/s however, now that my numbers are rising appropriately I don't known if they would.still try. I think it may be to early. My HCG level Friday was 456 and today it was 2016. I am not sure they would be able to see anything. My last pregnancy was an ectopic so they might want to rule that out. But I have no sign or symptoms this time. And I had an early m/c but have no signs or symptoms of that either. So what do you all think?

How far along are you? Also, it's really up to the doctor. Every doctor does things differently.

I am a FTM and have no history of issues in the GYN dept.. I went for my 1st appointment @ 8wks. She scheduled me for a dating u/s for tomorrow which I was not expecting since I've always been very regular.. but who knows why she ordered it. It's entirely up to the doctor.

It probably depends on what your doc's standard practices are. Mine does early u/s for dating purposes. Others don't. I've had 2 cp's and the only thing they did different this time from last time was beta testing to make sure my hcg and progesterone levels were doing what they needed to do.

I'm going for my first appointment tomorrow, will be 9 wks on Wednesday--they are doing an u/s. I would think with your history an u/s is a pretty safe bet. I called my ob to see what all would be going on during this appt. as the prenatal care with my dd was with a different office.

Not sure. My last period was August 5. But the numbers don't match up so I think I Ovulated late. And my periods have been out ta wack since the tubal removal anyways

At six weeks you should see a baby and a heartbeat. My office does the first visit at 7-8 weeks with a sono to date and confirm the pregnancy.

I had one done at 5w2d with a beta hCg level of 14, 389 and we saw a gestational sac and a yolk sac. I know my doctor told me they usually do u/s to asses viability (heartbeat) around 7weeks.

At my first appointments they have just done a urine test and a blood test. I did have an early ultrasound because of some spotting but other wise I think they would have waited until closer to 10 weeks. Given your history, I think they might want to do one. I would probably ask.

With those numbers they won't see much. I can't remember if it was 6000 before they would do an us last time or if it was higher.

6 weeks can still be hit or miss. Some don't see a hb until closer to 7 weeks.

I don't know if this helps, but for my first pregnancy they didn't want to get me in for any testing whatsoever (let along an ultrasound) until I was 11 weeks along. Since you have a history of ectopic, I think you could probably insist on an ultrasound if you wanted. But I think the reason they don't want to give everyone 6 week ultrasounds is because it can cause a lot of undue stress -- Not every baby has a heartbeat by that point.
