A flair for the dramatics...

DD sure has one...DH left for NYC this AM early and she got up when he did. I told her to go back to bed and she said "this is the only way I can spend time with daddy, so I'll just be tired. It's worth it." Saddest sentence ever from a 9 year old. LOL She sure knows how to lay it on thick. But at least I don't have to scream at her to get ready, she already is! Maybe they should do this every morning. Can't get her out of bed at 6:30, but she was bright eyed at 5am.

That's precious and sad all at once.
I know! I didn't know where to giggle or cry.

I will say that she used to barely notice him being gone but the older she gets, the worse it is. Totally didn't expect that!

  • I would let her know that if she can't get ready on time getting up at 6:30 you are happy to wake her at 5 :) lol, funny and sad.  How long is he gone for?
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

  • Oh he'll be back tomorrow. LOL He's in NYC tonight and then taking the train to Philly for a mtg, back here by 7:30 or so. He leaves again on Thursday, but so does she, so what's she complaining about? I told her I was going to start waking her up that early every day. She said that was fine. We'll see tomorrow.
