Babymoon??

Anyone taking one? If so, when? I am not sure when a safe time to fly up to is.... DH & I wanted to do a little getaway that would require a plane ride. Originally I was thinking Jan, but DH has a 2 week work trip in Vancouver, then Dec is holidays which we will take a week off to visit family. And then our first godchild will be born on Thanksgiving and we need to be there for the Christening which I am assuming will be not too far after that. There seems to be no time!! Feb would work, but I am not sure if that is too late??

I think dr.s only want you flying up to 35 weeks unless you are high risk. We took a babymoon with DS and we went to Niagara Falls (8 hour car drive) when I was 20 weeks.

Good to know...thanks! I wanted to go to the Carribbean but DH is nervous leaving the country with me later in my pregnancy. We are thinking Vegas then.....which I know is a weird choice but we love to gamble lol And since we've been there quite a few times we've done the tourist thing. So, I look forward to spa time, shows & food!

My doctor said trips before 35 weeks are fine but to let them know so they can give me a copy of my records in case we get somewhere and there are complications. Definitely ask about that! I think the key is to get up and walk around on the flight or make frequent stops if you're in the car to prevent blood clots. We're going in October. I keep telling my husband it's safe to drive for a while but he has convinced himself that if I'm not showing then it will be safer if we happen to get into an accident. Haha!! I have no clue if he's right but that's fine with me. We're going to Mount Vernon in Virginia. Hoping to see some leaves change and get our nerd on with a little history.

We'll probably go to Italy in January to see my family, so not a babymoon alas. He might go skiing while we're there, I'll sit in a lodge and drink hot chocolate.

We thought about taking one, but there really isn't a time that will work for us. I need to save up my pitiful number of sick days for maternity leave and my spring break is the week before I'm due.

We are going to Vegas in December for a wedding, though, so we will probably treat that as a babymoon.

We are going to the Dominican in a few weeks. My cousin is getting married there and we are staying several days after everyone leaves. We planned this before we were pregnant so it's turned into a baby moon!!!

DH and I love to gamble too but keep in mind you will be sitting in a place where people smoke indoors and that it terrible for pregnancy.

Closest I'm getting to a babymoon is a staycation at one of the island's best resorts. I may just take a day trip to St. Thomas or Puerto Rico though.

I think we go to Hawaii over Thanksgiving. It's the only time DH can get away and I won't be able to fly for much longer.

We LOVE Vegas... but be careful since all the casinos you are able to smoke in them... and it can be pretty bad.

We are going to Grand Cayman in early Feb. DH has clients there so work will be paying for his plane ticket and our hotel room and we will stay several days after his meetings are finished. It's actually the perfect beach vacation for us because he gets really bored laying at the beach / pool so I will be loooooooving just relaxing while he is in meetings and we'll do more active stuff together!

The whole point of a babymoon is to just kind of just get away with your honey before the baby gets here! We are planning on taking one sometime in January or February and only going a few hours maybe to Nashville or Gatlinburg. I've never left my DS overnight so this will be a practice run for when I'm in the hospital!

We're going next month to Northern Michigan. We don't want to travel too far and also don't want to wait until there could be snow storms. I love the idea of Babymoons!

My DH just got a new job! So we are taking a babymoon early, just at the start of the 2nd trimester. This might be the only time we can get away for a full week before the baby comes since he doesnt get vacation time for a while. Heading to New Orleans then to Florida to visit family and friends.

We will definitely be going somewhere just not sure where yet! We were supposed to be in SE Asia for our actually honeymoon in November but babymoon it is! Any suggestions on where is a good & safe place to go? We're thinking Spain/Portugal, Costa Rica or Caribbean somewhere!

We already had a couple trips planned that we'll keep on the calendar. Cabo in December and England in January. England is really a business trip for DH, but I get to come along and explore (read: go through museums without him once telling me that he's hungry or asking if I'm done yet!), then come home just in time for the Justin Timberlake concert, because let's be honest...that's important.

Not planning a baby moon, but already planning our first trip away after the baby is born. We love bed and breakfasts in Carmel, and love getting away or long weekends. I know we'll go before baby too, but the winery we belong to is down there, and half the fun is all the good food and drinks. I figure we can do a mid-week when rates are cheap and take the baby when it's summer and hot, as soon as we can get the baby sleeping at least five hours a night. We'll get a nice, low key time away, but still close to home, as a family, and baby will get to see the ocean for the first time. I can't wait.

I agree with everyone, I don't think February would be too late. Definitely double check with your Dr though.

Right before I got pregnant, we planned a trip to Rome for Thanksgiving week. I'll be in the middle of my second trimester, so coincidentally it worked out perfectly. Hopefully, we'll be able to see the gender right before we go, so I can shop while we're there!

We live in Hawaii right now for the next 2 years. We're planning on taking a trip home (New Jersey) in January after the holidays to visit with family before the baby is born. Which requires a 12 hour plane flight. Hopefully all goes well!

I'm self employed (I'm a florist so it's starting to get into my busy season Oct-Feb) so taking a baby moon maybe out of the question. But, I have a cousin who is getting married in St.Louis in the beginning of March. Depending if I get the ok from the Dr we will go there. But changing NE cold for MO cold not that relaxing lol

Everyone is going to such great places! I'm going to surprise hubby with a winter trip to the beach for the weekend and go to a super fancy restaurant. We live about 2 hours away and we have 2 sons so this will be fun!
