Foot stuck in crib

Does this happen to anyone else's LO? DS wedges his foot between the bars of the crib almost every night. He can't get it out on his own and screams until we are able to get it out.
I have tried the mesh bumpers but he just gets his foot stuck above them and then his leg is hanging there.
Any other suggestions??

    No suggestions. This happens to us too. Not as frequently but often enough. Mesh bumpers didn't work for us either. And we can't use sleep sacks because he walks in the crib and I like his face. I don't want him to bust himself all up by trying to walk in the crib in a sleep sack.

    DS is way too big for sleep sacks and like pp said he is also walking all over the crib. This has been going on for a good 6 weeks. He does an alligator roll when his foot gets stuck which makes it worse because then his leg is twisted.

    How big is your DS? Just curious because O was off the charts in height for his one year check and he still wears sleep sacks. He also walks the crib in it too but holds the sides so he doesn't fall.
    There are light cotton ones too or I think A&A does them so they're not too warm if that's a concern. Good luck!

    Yeah, the Halo sleep sacks run really big. Even the ones without leg holes my kids could walk/run in lol. It's nice knowing they'll stay warm in the winter too. My son wore one until 18 months and he was big. I would try that? They also make the really tall mesh bumpers that reach up to the rails. Might work better than the regular breathable bumper?

    We use the halo ones. C used one until she was two and we transitioned out of the crib into a bed. They worked well for us and have been working well for O so far.

    We still use sleep sacks, too. She walks in the crib in them and it is fine. We have XL Halo ones for this winter and they are so big, I can practically fit into them.

    I will have to try a bigger size sleep sack. I was out today and could only find small and medium and BRUS, target and walmart so I will have to order them.
    I didn't know they came in larger sizes probably because they don't seem to carry them in stores. DS was 34 inches and 30 lbs at his one year check so hopefully the XL size will work.

    DS walks all around the house in his sleep sack, and he hardly ever falls. We put it on him for stories, he wriggles down and walks all over the place. I was really surprised, but he seems to have figured it out. That said, I do think he has gotten his foot caught in the crib once even in the sleep sack. But only once. It is definitely worth a try.

    I had a kid in my two year old classroom who had to nap in one. The Halo come pretty big.

    @MeredithML your LO is tall! O is 33" and 25 lbs and he fits really well in the XL with some room to spare on the bottom. I know for the next growth spurt we'll have to move up to the next size though.
