Homemade Laundry Detergent

Any of you out there make your own laundry detergent?  I've been making homemade laundry detergent for almost a year now - borax, washing soda and fels naptha.  I do the liquid version versus powder and haven't had any problems for me, hubby, or stepdaughters.  And I love how much I'm saving.

I'm just curious though how homemade detergent might be for babies.  If you make your own, are you planning on using it for LO or do you plan on getting Dreft??

    I make my own (need to today actually!) and have found recipes to make for my baby once she is here! It's not too different than what we already use and may just switch everyone over once we need it for her!

    @Rushley -- it's soooo much cheaper -- yes -- it takes some time to make but it's not even enough to worry about when I think of how much we save!!!

    H and I both haven't noticed a difference in our clothes -- and no one says we smell! Haha

    @sarahlm619 -- I'm glad you guys aren't the smelly ones lol.  I use cloth diapers and homemade detergent would be much better for baby's bum and the diaper. Looking on Pinterest now!

    Yes, it takes some time. But I make 5 gallons at a time and it seems to last for quite awhile. I can't imagine going back and spending all that money on Tide or Gain or something :-)

    @daltoso -- here is the link I found to make it -- I HAVE NOT done it yet -- so I have no tips/tricks yet...

    The recipe I currently use doesn't use the baby soap -- it use dish soap instead -- so I don't have to grate the soap -- which is AMAZING!!!!  I have a hard time thinking I won't fall in love with this method as well since it's practically the same thing
