If you've bought stride rite shoes...

Where are you buying them? At an actual stride rite store, department store, etc? The closest stride rite store we have is an hour and a half away. I'm just seeing if there are other stores that sell them. Thanks laides!

Re: If you've bought stride rite shoes...

  • We have a stride rite store we bought them at but there is also a local children's shoe store that sells them and Keens and other kids shoes

  • @jfresh that's amazing! What a deal!

And to anyone else with a kid who has chubby feet, these shoes work good? They go on well and such? I've bought a few shoes at garage sales and they are so hard to get on his chubby feet. So would you say stride rite is the way to go?? Sorry I know this has been discussed, but my kid wasn't walking then. I should've paid attention!!

  • We went to the Stride Rite store, but I will never go again.  @bubbajug found out they are sold on Amazon for much cheaper than at the store.

  • The best reason to go to the store is to get measured and then you know what size to buy online :)

  • Thanks for all the tips! I guess we'll make a trip to the store to get him fitted and probably buy them online or elsewhere when we see them.

  • I've bought them at the store and also on eBay. I lucked out and found 2 pair at a kids consignment sale last week for $3 each and they are in excellent condition.

  • Amazon. They're quite a bit cheaper and have a much larger selection.

  • My 14 mo DS is a 5.5 W at Stride Rite and I love the shoes.  I like to get him fitted at the store and buy one pair.  Then I look on Amazon, at resale shops, or Nordstrom Rack/TJ Maxx/Marshall's for a second pair.
  • @GreenMonkey1 that's good advice, thank you. I didn't know they sold any at TJ Maxx or Marshalls. I'll have to look there after we get him fitted!

  • I can't justify spending $25+ on a pair of kids' shoes that are going to only be worn for a few weeks before not fitting anymore. I purchase them used at a consignment stores or from ebay. I have gotten amazing deals on great shoes in great condition.  Just this week I got a pair of brown leather stride rite shoes for $7 including shipping.  Can't beat it.  When they arrive, I clean them and spray them with shoe spray... as good as new.
