Naps

How often and for how long do your LOs nap during the day? My LO pretty much sleeps whenever he wants but it's so unpredictable. If like to get him on some sort of schedule. My LO is 16 weeks old. Thanks!

    Check out our Sunday sleep check in.

    Currently we do three 30-60min naps. Sometimes I'll try for a fourth but it throws bedtime off a bit. She's 19w.

    4 naps - usually 40 min or so and one that's 1.5 - 2 hrs.

    We've been working in crib naps instead of in-my-arms naps. So crib naps are 10-30 minutes, 3-4 times a day. Arm naps are 30-60 minutes, 3-4 times a day.

    LO naps every 1.5-2 hours.  Usually just for 25-30 minutes, but the past three days I've gotten a good two hour nap each day.  Someone on here mentioned that her DH sits by the crib around the time when their LO transitions from one sleep stage to the next, and he is able to put the LO back to sleep before he really wakes up.  So I tried that, and it works!  Around 20 minutes I hover like a creep over his crib, and settle him (read: pin his arms down) when he starts to fling them about.  He stays asleep, and I get another 90 minutes out of him.

    At daycare, LO naps about 30-45 mins. She always takes longer naps at home. We must bore her.

    Uggg I have tried this and FAIL at it. He sleeps 28 minutes on the nose. I can never tell when to do the transition. He takes a deep breath and opens eyes almost instantly right when he wakes up. Am I too late at that point?

    my thoughts exactly! I tend to miss the opening and shutting of the eyes because it happens so fast.
