rec your hair product!

I'm in need of something to help this flat hair of mine. I usually don't use any hair product except for a smoothing cream because I hate my hair to be sticky or stiff. But ever since my pregnancy hair all fell out I'm in need of something to give it a boost. My hair is super fine and when I flat iron it (which I have to do b/c the ends are frizzy) the roots get almost TOO silky and it looks like my scalp is greasy. Any rec's for something that will give me some lift and texture without making my hair feel like straw?

  • I use a tresemme 24 hr body mousse. And thickr hairspray by rusk. Its a thickening hair spray for fine hair so it isn't stiff but gives you buildable hold. What's your view on Velcro rollers? I use the huge roll ones to set my hair while I apply my make up. That's the only thing that gives me lasting volume.

  • I also love pantene products if you don't want to spend a lot on hair product. I find my rusk stuff at marshalls/tjmaxx

  • Your hair sounds just like mine. I use a tresemme volumizing mousse, and I try to blow dry it with a round brush when I have time in the mornings (which is not often of course!)

  • Thanks guys, I'll be looking for some of the products you mentioned. And I'll try to stay away from the roots with the flat iron, it's hard though b/c I have waves close to my scalp.
@nesenotes, I am intrigued by this velcro roller thing. How do you set it? Dry? Damp? Do you blow dry while the rollers are in?
  • I blow dry it, grab a big section where I want volume spray a little hair spray, back comb ita little then flat iron the strip of hair, roll it up and throw a bobby pin in it. Its actually pretty fast especially if you straighten your hair in sections anyway. I usually just do the top half. Then I leave it in rollers while I do my makeup and pull them out when I'm done.

You could skip the back comb part if you want but I would still spray it a little.
