CD moms - pants

Anybody else starting to have trouble finding pants that work with a CD? I guess it's mainly jeans that we're having trouble with. Last year she usually wore leggings or something stretchy because if we went outside she was probably going to be in the carrier with a blanket over her. My SIL passed down 3 pairs of jeans and 2 pairs of other pants for the fall/winter and I was excited to not have to buy anything, but I can barely button them and DD can barely walk (but at the same time they're an inch or two too long). Know of any brands with big butts in their pants? DD is wearing mostly 18m stuff right now. 24m sort of fits, but pants would be way way too long.

  • L has a pair of purple 7's I got on SALE (I know flame worthy but I couldn't resist). They have an adjustable band with buttons on the inside. But I am going to be shopping for some regular ones soon. Do any of them have the adjustable waist on the inside? I think those help with CDing. Can you roll the jeans up so they aren't so long?

  • We do the adjustable waist for Gabe...we like Gap for those. I also saw a tutorial thati want to try on pinstripes and polka dots on how to tailor pants for cd babies by making the rise longer.

  • I agree with PP's we do the adjustable waist jeans and haven't had any issues with buttoning over CD's. We just moved from 6-9 month jeans into 9-12 though so having a peanut might help us on that department!

  • I have a bunch of Baby Gap pants that I have found at various garage sales, thrift stores and consignment stores.  They are by far the most roomy in the rear.  They work very well with his fluffy butt.

I may check there. There was one pair of Baby Gap jeans, but they're 12 month so I know they won't last through the winter.

In case anybody is interested, I randomly decided to google cloth diaper pants and found a site that makes pants for CD kids. They're a little pricy, but not outrageous and a couple of reviews I read said their kid has been wearing the same pair for a year. As soon as DH gets home I'm going to try to talk him into buying some :)https://www.projectpomonashop.com/

  • Charlotte only wears dresses, pretty much.

We bought jeans and khakis in 24 months (3 different brands) and not only are they too long, they barely fit her butt and she is unable to walk in any of them.

24 month leggings fit her but she just looks silly.  We mostly stick to dresses with socks, Baby Legs, or tights.  She wore a dress with tights all day today and was totally warm and comfy.
  • OH!  This is my other tip: overalls!  Charlotte only has one pair right now, but Osh Kosh B'Gosh overalls fit perfectly over her cloth diapers.  She can walk in them and then unsnap for easy diaper changes.  They make some in pink corduroy or with all over embroidery (hers have hearts on them) that are very cute.
  • Gosh I haven't had a problem at all with pants not fitting because they're too tight. If anything, CD keep her pants up when otherwise they'd fall straight off. If she was in disposables she'd probably still be in a lot of 12 month stuff. She's solidly in 18 month stuff. Maybe try a couple different brands.
