My ultrasound tech was a b****...

So yesterday I had my 1st appointment. The doctor visit went great! I love my doctor! She said since I'd had severe cramping (couldn't even stand up straight) they'd do a quick peek to rule out ectopic and schedule me for my real ultrasound next week. Well when the tech called me my fiancé had run to the RR so I asked if we could wait a second. She tells me that I'm welcome to stay in the waiting room but she has other people waiting. Being that we both had to get to work I told her we could go ahead. When we get in the room she starts complaining that I'm so early in my pregnancy (I'm 6 weeks, 2days if go from ovulation date) but that once someone says "cramping" they have to check. I explained to her that I understand cramping is normal but not doubled over cramping to which she says, "yea well all you have to say is cramping and you get an ultrasound." So basically she thinks I was faking to see early. All she did was an over the stomach (not internal) to check that there was a gestational sack forming where it should (which there was!) so why is she having a cow!? It's not like I got to see much! At least now I have piece of mind that the baby is in the right spot :-) I sure hope I get someone nicer next week...

    Sorry to hear you had such a terrible experience! Some people can be so insensitive to the gravity of your situation. Try to focus on the good stuff and not let a tech ruin the important part. Baby is looking good ! ;)

    Wow, that is rude! I'm glad all is well, though. Hopefully you won't have to deal with that tech again.

    Thanks ladies! I am definitely focusing on the positives. Guess I just needed to vent! I probably should have put that it was a vent in the discussion title. Lol! I may mention it to my doctor but we'll see what the atmosphere is like at next weeks appointment.

    That's awful.  I'd complain to the office or at the very least see if they have another tech you can see in the future.

    That is terrible! I would have probably been rude right back to her and said something like, "Well, do you suggest that I ignore the pain to avoid inconveniencing you?"

    2011: FSH 13.3 & E 99; AMH 0.54 2nd FSH 6.2 E 40's AFC: 8
    BFP from Clomid/IUI ~ Pre-e and IUGR during pregnancy ~ DS born 9/4/12

    I would definitely mention it with your doctor and complain with the office manager. She has no right to make clients feel like that! Thanks to you she even has a job!!

    What a bitch. You should have told her to shut her trap and do her job. You're paying for her to get it done! She's lucky to have had such a nice patient. She'd think twice about making comments like that again after a response I would have given her. I don't like sinking to the low levels of others, BUT this is for my health, sanity and its my BABY in there!
    I'm so upset for you. My rant is over.

    Her behaviour was totally rude and uncalled for. She should just keep any thoughts to herself, and I don't see how you having an ultrasound from an ultrasound tech should bother her in any way. Kind of her job? Hope it goes well next week instead. [-O<
