Second child - early, late, on time?

My son was born 3 days after my due date. I went in a day or so before I was due and I wasn't dilated or anything. The doctor did a membrane sweep 12 hours before my water broke so who knows how long I could've gone on my own. For this one my due date is October 7. I was just at the doctor yesterday and she did a cervical check and said I was 2cm. From your experience does this mean I will go early? Or could I stay like this for a few weeks? We have no family in town and my MIL isn't scheduled to fly in until the 1st so I am a little stressed about that. TIA!!

My first was born at 39w 4d. I didn't have any internals so I don't know if I was dilated or effaced beforehand.

My second was born at 37w 3d. At 36 weeks I was 100% effaced and 3cm dilated following a bout of preterm labor that luckily stopped on its own.

I'm now 38w 5d. At 31 weeks I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced following a bout of ptl. At 32 weeks I was not effaced or dilated. At 37 weeks I was 1cm, 30%.

I won't have any more internals until I go to the hospital in labor since it doesn't necessarily mean anything to be dilated or effaced. Also, after the one internal I had at 37 weeks I spotted for two days and had cramping and contractions that were quite uncomfortable, not to mention confusing...

I'm due the 7th also. On Wednesday I was 2cm and my OB stretched me to 3cm and swept my membranes. I've since lost my mucus plug but have had no increase in contractions. We're doing it again next Thursday. It really means nothing about when you will go into labor but it is exciting.
With my 2nd I was dilated to 5cm and had my membranes swept 3 times (a week apart each time) and I still had to be induced.

Doesn't mean anything really. You could go tonight or you could go in 2 weeks.

I was 1cm last Thursday. Tuesday I was 4cm and contracting. DD was born WEdnesday morning

My first was born at 38w5d and my second was born at 42w. So, you may go early or may go late.

My first was born at 41w3 days....I'm currently 40w3d pregnant with my second...history seems to be repeating itself in my case....I just hope I don't have another week of this...I'm soooo ready!

I'm a second(middle, actually) child. I was 2 weeks late. They had induction scheduled for the day after I was born.

Babies will be born whenever they decide.
