Do you have any tattoos? How many?
What of and where?
Plans for more (or a first if you're currently ink free)?
Any special stories behind your tat(s)?

I don't have any tattoos. However, I came across this and love it, so I think it may have to be my first one.

    I currently have 2. A butterfly on my lower back( I know a tramp stamp but I got it on my 18th birthday and I got it a little higher than a normal tramp stamp). I also have my oldests' initials on my left shoulder blade. I plan on getting my other 2 boys initials as well just not sure where. When they get older and they have a particular interest or hobby I will then add onto the initials in someway to show what they like/love.

    I have two.  A Celtic knot on my back that I got for my 35th birthday. 

    The other is a lopsided heart with stars on my ankle.  I got this in Jan. 2012.  One side is higher than the other, so it reminds me of a mom and child.  There is one star on the taller side for my Mom who died in 2011 and two stars on the shorter side for the two babies I lost.

    I have my name in my dad's language on my ribs and a lotus flower between my shoulder blades. I plan on getting a few more.

    Just a small rose on my ankle. Probably won't get any more but I'm not opposed to getting something later I memory of my brother who passed away a few years ago and my two boys just have no idea what. The one I do have is all faded.

    I don't have any and don't plan to. I got my tongue pierced when I was 18 and then took it out a few months before I graduated college. That's all I got.

    I've got 3. I have the kanji for God on my back left shoulder, a repeating pattern of a honu (turtle) and plumeria around my right ankle, and the one below on the inside of my right arm.

    The first one I got as a freshman in college, the one on my ankle about 10 years later, and then the one on my arm on my honeymoon. DH and I each got one, the clover represents his heritage, and the cherry blossom represents mine. His is a jellyfish though, and mine is a honu in water.

    Edit: I forgot to add, that I'm actually getting another one at some point after I wean S because I have a gift certificate to use up! We were in a bowling league where depending on our ranking, we got varying amounts towards a tattoo at a local tattoo shop. Yeah, we're tattoo people in this house....

    I have 5. An acorn/lightbulb on my right lower back/butt, a morton salt girl and GE logo on my right ankle both done by my brother, the Tolkien estate logo on my left foot which I got matching with a good friend, and an ampersand on my right ankle. I got the ampersand the day before I got my bfp. I will always think of Bram when I look at it.

    I have one small one on my lower left hip. It's the Janis Joplin heart with the symbol for strength inside. I got it when I was 17. My mom and I did not get along at all when I was a teenager. She and my dad had hit a few points where it seemed like they were done being parents and I lived/ spent a lot of time with my grandmother when I was younger. We got a phone call she was dying and we wouldn't make it in time to say goodbye. My mom and I jumped in the car and I turned on the radio to break the silence and Janis Joplin's "Me and Bobby McGee" came on the radio. Usually we fought about everything including the radio but we both sang along to that song. We got to the hospital and after a long night Grams was ok and lived 6 more years. The doctors said they never saw a woman that strong. So I got that little tattoo because it was our turning point.

    I never had a desire to get another until my Grandma died in 2006. I want Ave Maria somewhere, it was her favorite hymn. Maybe incorporate it into a mother/child symbol. I have a rule I have to love a design for a year without wanting to change it and I haven't had that yet.

    None. Fearful of needles. Considered biting the bullet when I was living in Paris (a fleur de lys behind my right ear) but couldn't bring myself to do it. If I do get any at this point, Roman numerals under my left breast/arm to represent chapters/dates in our (mine and husbands) life... Wish I had the guts to just do it...

    I have the same rule! I also wait a year between tattoos at least so that I can donate blood.

    What of and where? A heart on my hip, some stars on my shoulder, my brother and sister's names on my forearms, and my grandpa's name in Hebrew on my neck.

    Plans for more (or a first if you're currently ink free)?  I'd like to get LO's bday somewhere.  Just the numbers though.  Like a small 52313.

    Any special stories behind your tat(s)?      I have to explain the ones on my arms a lot.  My brother and sister were deployed to Iraq at the same time, and I wasn't handling it well.  I went to Japan, and they serve you booze in the tattoo parlors.  I was on a flight home with my arms wrapped up.  Oops!
