We actually have 2 in our twins room...we had one in the house already so we only had to buy 1. I love it because from day 1 (they're 7 1/2 months old) my husband and I have each fed a baby and we get to do it in the same room. It's kind of a nice little family time that I know we won't have forever. We also turn on a lamp and turn off the overhead lights to help relax and repare them for sleep...they've slept through the night since 2 months so maybe it's helping??
My vote is go for it! We have two rocker recliners in their room, and H and I each rock a baby every night. I bf'ed until around 10 months, so now we can each give a bottle. It's nice.
Ehhh... My 2yo son doesn't need rocking anymore, at least not like a baby does. so we kept the rocker in the nursery. we didn't get a second rocker. if we both feed, we just go in our room and sit in the armchairs there so we can talk. i just don't like buying furntiure that doesn't have a long lifespan. the rocker we have is something we can use in other parts of our house after the girls move to beds. we have a regular full size recliner downstairs too. it preexisted babies.
TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!
Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!
Same situation here and I bought a second one. We use the one in DS's room for reading stories before bed and I knew I wouldn't want to give that up. I found both of ours on Craigslist.
Re: Do I need a 2nd glider?
Do you think you'll use the glider with her at 2? If so, then I'd say yes. I use a rocking chair in their for middle of the night feedings.
Maybe you can use the glider to rock DD to sleep in the twins room, then transfer her to her room??
