Random - Post from 2010?

Just curious how a post from 2010 got to the top of the SAIF board today? I was looking at the responses posted and thinking to myself "I haven't seen [insert SN of a dozen or so former SAIFers here] around here in FOREVER....." Then I noticed the date on the original post. Is it there because someone responded to it today (not sure how that would happen either)? I am just curious.

    I think it's bc the search feature actually works now.  So randoms and newbs are searching topics, finding threads, and responding to them.  And since things are now sorted by recent response date, they're floating to the top.  Which one was it?

    Our daughter E was born 7/29/2012!
    Surprise, our 2nd daughter P was born 5/22/14!

    Never mind, I see it now.  This has been happening on lots of other boards too.  People are finding posts from years back and flagging random crap.  It's a pain.

    This is one of my biggest frustrations about the new bump format.  The most recently replied post jumps up to the top of the list instead of having the top posts be the most recently started.  I'm on a group over at baby center . com and this is how their format is too and this stuff happens all the time.  Posts from months or even years ago are popping up at the top.  You have to pay attention to the original post date now.  Annoying!

    @jenny952 you can change your preferences to post by original post date even though the default is by most recent. I think some people have had trouble with it sticking though.
