Laptop - has all of my pictures backed up on it Cardbox - where I keep all of my homemade cards and notes from DH and DD My DD's cookie monster toy tied up in her blanket (because I need both lol) - or else we would never sleep again
DD born Oct 2011 - DS#1 born Jan 2014 - DS#2 born Apr 2015 - DS#3 born Sept 2016 - LO#5 due Feb 7, 2018
Our lock box (all the important stuff + sonogram pics/DVDs), clothes and food (since I'd probably die within the first 3 hours without something to eat lol)
DS's baby book (I made it myself = cannot be replaced!!), my purse (which contains phone/wallet), and sadly, my Kindle Paperwhite. Because I can't live without it...
Actually my #1 important possession is our hard drive with all our photos, but it's in a fire safe that is screwed to the floor, so I'd have to trust the "fire safeness" of it. lol.
UGH... I always overanalyze these questions. @Hannie3, what is the reason I have to evacuate my house? Is there an urgent danger to the house itself (like a fire)? Zombie apocalypses, as someone had mentioned? Nuclear devastation in the area?
Because what I'd bring would depend on if I were planning on coming back sometime soon, or if the house and its contents would still exist at a later time...
::conflicted::
Haha love it !!! You know I was going to say it was on fire but I didn't want to even wanna post that to a group of pregnant women ... So I dunno whatever reason... Be creative
Whatever the reason... Just know your still only allowed 3

ZOMG... so much pressure.... so many uncertainties...
I'm using airplane rules and will assume that my purse and contents there of "don't count."
Okay. I'm going with the "take what you need for survival" theme. In that case
1) As much food as I could carry 2) A gas can 3) The case of waterbottles
Most stressful GTKY question ever...
You didn't think of weather circumstances... What if its raining you could just drink out of puddles , forget that waterbottles and still have one thing left !! Haha
If each cat counts as one thing, two cats and the laptop.
Which is a super boring answer, but there you are. I also have all our important papers in a tote, but hopefully by the time disaster strikes I will have put them into a safe deposit box like an actual adult.
computer, clothes (does that count as one? I don't want to be homeless and naked), and everyone's medicine! haha, can't imagine not having my daughter's ADHD meds and the added stress of no home!
It sounds boring to say water, wallet and phone, right? So I'm going to go with a frying pan (weapon), red sneakers (I run faster in those, I know it's psychological), and current book...right now House of Mirth.

I would've said the same thing but OP excluded pets.
Box of stuff I've kept from DH when we were dating at 16 y.o.
And now I'm slightly paranoid that I need to organize some other keepsake/irreplaceable things in a box or something easy to grab if this really did happen.
Edit: I just re read and it did not specify fire like I had thought too, I would probably grab my pistol/ammo depending on the situation at hand. Especially if we could come back later for other things.
