I feel like the worst mom ever...long

So yesterday DDd woke up screaming at 4:30 am (which would make for a long day) on top of that she felt warm, so I took her temp and she had a low grade fever (99.4) which I contributed to maybe teething. DH took her to MIL's house for the day because he was going somewhere for work for a few hours. I get a text into he middle of the day from DH asking if I can get the baby after work and possibly leave a little early to get her he wasn't going to be done when he thought he was going to be. Ok no big deal I can arrange that I hardly ever leave early. Then a couple hours later I get another text saying she stared vomiting. I asked if I needed to leave then to take her to the dr. MIL said no it was only once and she was ok now. So the plan was to leave around 5:30 pm to get her. I ended up having to stay until 6:15 pm because I had a medical emergency come in. So once I got it stable and under control another RVT took over and I left. I called MIL and said I was on my way and called DH to see where he was. Fortunately they did get done early and was picking up DD by the time I left. I got home and got ready to get DD out of the car when DH got home. She was so warm when I got her out I asked if she felt like that all day, yes eh told me but it would fade when she got Motrin. Ok when was her last dose? 3:30 pm so I couldn't give her more yet. Well then everything went downhill. She has a rash all over, fever of 102 and vomiting multiple times. I call the pedi and wait for the on call dr to get back to me. I waited 1/2 hour and called pedi back, still didn't hear anything after another 15 mins. So I'm a FTM and I call my mom, she tells me to get her some where now. So I take her to urgent care around the corner and her fever was 104.7!!! Talk about feeling horrible. They tell me to get her to the ER ASAP! So by this time I'm freaking out and feeling like a terrible mom. I take her to the ER where urgent care said they would probably have to do blood cultures and other tests. So I'm thinking the worst, and upon getting to the ER and getting seen I find out she has hand, foot and mouth disease, a virus that causes a high fever, vomiting and a rash. They told me she will be fine and to just keep her comfortable. I wish DH would have told me about some of the things he was seeing sooner, maybe then she wouldn't have had such a high fever :( I'm just feeling sorry for her and feeling helpless because there is nothing I can do to help her. Bab mom rant over now! Oh and she is feeling much better today and I took the day off to stay with her which helps me feel a little better.

    That sucks. We've all been there, or someday will. Glad she's feeling a little better and you're able to spend the day with her.

     my only issue is that the urgent care center didnt do their job. You didnt need to go to the ER.  I would not go back to that place since that should have been dx there.  so sorry
    I agree with this.  We had to do the ER thing for a fever but it was because LO was under 3 months old.  After that, you kind of ride it out with alternating motrin/tylenol, luke warms baths and fluids and then see if the pedi wants to see you.

    DD had a 104.7 fever a couple months ago. It's scary! She ended up having roseola. Glad your DD is doing better. Don't be hard on yourself.
    DS born 8/8/09 and DD born 6/12/12.

    I don't understand how you feel like the worst mom ever? You did everything right by taking your DD to the dr when she needed it. There was no way to predict earlier in the day based on a slight fever and one vomit episode she would need urgent care.

    Glad she's feeling better and a huge part of it is probably all the snuggles you gave her yesterday. That doesn't sound like a bad mom to me.
