Cannot get myself to care...(vent)

Right now, all I want to do is sleep and, for the life of me, I cannot get myself motivated to care much about the million things I have to do at work or the housework and such I have to do at home. I make myself do the bare minimum, but I'm seriously dragging. This is number three for me and I swear it's worse than bee this time around! I'm saying a little prayer that the second tri (technically next week) brings a little more energy and motivation!!

  • This is me exactly. I'm half assing everything and get more annoyed at the lack of assistance I get. My kids are 14, 12 and 10 and my SDs are 15 and 10. I really should have more help at their age. Dishes all over, shoes left in the hall. Bikes out front instead of put away. I just can't keep up. And for the first time I can't even try. I'm 14w3d so just inside 2nd tri and my nausea isn't 24/7 anymore. Mostly just evenings now but the fatigue is still alive and well. Let's hope for that energy boost to kick in ASAP!

  • Same here. I really don't want to take a shower most days, but I will if I have to leave the house.

Oakvillemomof3+1: I'm sorry your kids aren't helping. By 13 years old, I would cook dinner and vacuum every other night. I'm just saying, there is no reason with 5 kids ages 10+, that they can't help out. Crack that whip momma!

  • I know the feeling I really toto catch up on housework but my daughter has had a cold and been up in the night. We are watching tv an I'm really trying not to fall asleep!
  • Don't feel bad!  I was a zombie my entire first trimester.  I looked around the house one day and realized there were dishes piled in the sink, laundry piled everywhere, the house hadn't been dusted or vacuumed in a long time, the bathrooms needed serious attention, etc.  My husband helped quite a bit, but he works and commutes so there was only so much he could do.  Eventually I got up and took care of it, and now that I'm in the second trimester (14 weeks) I am able to keep up with these things regularly as usual.  I guess what I'm trying to say is cut yourself some slack!  The housework isn't going anywhere and if you need to rest, rest.  You'll get your energy back soon enough :)

  • My give a damn is busted and has been for about 12 weeks.  Even at 14 weeks I'm still so tired that thinking about getting stuff done makes me even more tired.  I did clean the bathroom today, but I'm still in my pajamas.  Gotta work up the energy to go take a shower.....

  • In the same boat. I've practically been in bed with HG for almost 2 months. My angel of a momma came over last week and cleaned my entire house otherwise it would still look like a disaster. Taking a shower is ridiculous! How did I not realize before preg exactly how much energy it requires?!

Me exactly! DH commutes over an hour (one way) at least 4 days a week. My mil is coming in from New Zealand for a 3 week visit next Thursday, and my to do list is not getting checked off like it should....

  • This is me usually, but of course since I have to take it easy today since I had surgery yesterday, all I want to do is clean, organize and everything I shouldn't be doing.

  • I'm 17 weeks and I still feel this way. Thank god I'm on vacation right now and my mum is with me so she is cooking!
I work full time and have a five year old but I swear I have done basically no housework for the pregnancy so far. DH does some bit he isn't very good at it!
    Hoping I get energy soon!!
  • Same here. It's just lovely.
:-q I'm really trying to enjoy the naps though because I know soon enough, I'll be praying for one.

  • Man am I glad I am not the only one. Even though I'm in the 2nd trimester and my all day nausea is gone, I don't feel like I have the energy to do anything. I feel like I need to get my butt in gear but all I really want to do is lay on the couch and play Xbox.
