I'm just now venturing into that longestthreadever post. Want to summarize?
I dislike when people justify it by saying "It's the internet. No one is forcing anyone to participate and people can leave whenever they feel like it. Therefore, it's not bullying."
I read through it all... Pretty awful. It started out pretty innocently but all of the regulars predicted that it wouldn't end well. Sure enough, some people posted silly secrets, some posted really, really sad secrets, and then the real scumbags posted really personal and mean attacks towards certain posters.
The good thing is that people mostly agreed that the people that posted the horrible stuff were complete creeps and starting posting really positive things about each other. I haven't lurked on Parenting for awhile...this was a heavy read.
I was hoping someone else saw. That is some pretty intense stuff. I lurk and irregularly post over there, but I am really having a hard time understanding what is going on

Yup. They used to have the same type of post secrets blog on TTGP board, with the same result.
Read the nice thread instead. It's much more uplifting.
"are you doing birth announcements? if so, what website are you using? or are you DIY?"
"Well...Being as the two of us having a child would be huge news since we're men and in a world-famous boyband and have been rumored to secretly be in love for three years, our birth announcement would be splashed all over the internet and in the papers and on magazine covers all over the world, including an exclusive spread in People magazine, the proceeds from which we would then donate to charity. Also, if we don't have a female surrogate carry our child and one of us actually carries and delivers it, we inherit Disneyland, per Walt Disney's final wishes laid out in his will. So there's that.If we weren't celebrities, however, we'd probably go with Shutterfly."
People who try to make others feel badly about themselves are horrible human beings. In my book, they've got a straight ticket to hell. Even if it is just over the internet.
Or maybe not. My stomach cringes when people say cruel things.
Get out of my head.
I feel the same way. I always think of the person who is on the receiving end of someone being cruel. All the secretaries in my department had anonymous evaluations completed by faculty members. There were so many horrible, cruel things mentioned. One read "You need to remember that you are just a secretary." When she told me about it, I flew through the roof. ADULT BULLIES ARE LOWLIFES!
When I was in kindergarten, I once screamed at these second graders to leave my friend alone because he was overweight. My sister went home and told my Mom, "They're going to kill her." I hope I always take the high road when other's feelings are at stake. I don't know how my five year old self was able to think that way. I hope Howell does when he is five.
Re: people are mean
I wish I would've watched Breaking Bad instead. At 3am I thought, "why am I wasting my time with this petty gossip shit?!"
