DD1 has hit me, screamed at me, and spit on me today already and it's just 9.

She has spent most of the morning tantrumung, screaming, and just generally in a foul mood. Yay!

She turns two on Monday.

I would say yes. Two and three year olds are like this in general. The closer we got to 3 the worse it got. I'm hoping the closer we get to 4 the better it gets.
