We closed on our house and my agent was great. What's a nice gift idea? I'm already giving a referral too.
Edit : By the way she gave us a gift, getting rooms in our house painted.
The commission he/she is about to make? Usually they buy you a gift. I think even a nice card or note would be more than enough.
This. We've used the same one for 3 sales and she's always gotten us a gift.

We adored our realtor! I baked a bunch of homemade danishes, and gave her a gift box filled with them. We've also had her over for lunch or tea a couple times since we moved here 2.5 years ago
Although I will say, realtors don't make as much as some people think they do. They have to split the commission with the other agent representing the sellers / buyers, and they lose a good chunk to whoever they work for (the broker), so they only walk away with roughly 1% of the selling price. Regardless, no need to buy them something.

We have never bought our Realtor a gift...but when we bought our most recent house, our realtor got us a $100 gift card to BB&B! I agree that their commission is enough...if u want to get them more, send a nice card.
I had no idea that a lot of realtors give the client a gift. I don't feel as badly now about accepting a little chunk of money back from ours at closing. He happens to also be my brother-in-law, so although he was just being big brotherly, sounds like what he gave us is about what it would cost to paint the rooms in a house, etc. I felt kind of bad about accepting it. We bought our first home from the owner directly, so it was the first time we had ever used a realtor.
What the PP said. We used the same realtor for our past few sales and purchases. For our current home which is up on a hill with an unobstructed view they got us an awesome $500 telescope! I guess I could have made them cookies! They've become good friends and even came to DS 1st bday party.

Oh, and a bottle of wine sounds good to me as a return gift.
Don't stress, and congrats to you!!
