A short version of my labor story does not really exist but here is a shortened version. We were going to be admitted to the hospital Sunday (the 15th) at 5 for cervidal and induction... But our little girl had other plans. We ended up going to the hospital at 9 am after 4 hours of strong contractions at home. We get there and the contractions are off the charts but I am still not dilated so they were going to send me home. Then little girl's heart rate started dropping after contractions so dr said keep them. They give me something to take the endge off, which did not work, and some cytex to induce labor. Well contractions got worse and I dilated to 1 cm. dr. Decided to break my water.... Nothing came out so he tried 6 more times. Extremely painful!!! I requested an epidural shortly after this. After 2 more hours of intense contractions and an epidural that only numbed one side the dr started pintocin. Everything intensified... Baby's heart rate dropped and nurses ran in flipping me over and pushing on baby. They stopped pintocin. This went on an on for a total of 20 hours of labor. Real painful... Epidural not working... Baby's heart rate dropping... Only dilated to 4 cm.... Till the baby's heart rate dropped to 39!! Everyone on the floor was in my room. They flipped me over on my numb knees and arms and had 6 people holding me there for 30 minutes while I threw up for the 6 th time. Dr came in said we are giving the baby one hour to stablize then csection. Not what I planned or wanted but what baby needed. So 12:05 they come in to prep me... 12:16 start cutting me open and let my DH in... 12:34 after having my little girl get stuck and them having to practically jump on my tummy to get her out my little girl was born!!!! Back in my room feeding her and skin to skin by 1:06:). There is so much more to the story but the end is all that matters.
