Take away from Pregnant Lady Prenatal Class Tonight...

So, the nurse that conducts the class mentioned tonight that there is a pressure point right below your inner ankle bone that you should avoid during massage as it can be known to induce labor and contractions.  She stated that doctors actually tell people not to push that one prior to 40 weeks.

On a side note...FAVORITE Pregnant Lady Class Ever!!  Session three of six involved an hour of instructions for the DH's on how use massage to make Mom comfy during delivery complete with demonstration!

  • Wish DH could go to this class!  We are only doing a one day workshop so don't know how much detail they will go into.... but glad you get to enjoy the benefits!

Glad you are enjoying your classes. We did the Bradley series and they taught DH massage techniques. So far they have been helpful. He had to use them when I had PTL and then just a couple times here and there when my back was really bothering me. Hoping I think they're just as useful when it comes time for delivery.
  • I know!! I thought the class would be pretty comical...but I loved all the massage stuff! :)

I used to work at a salon/spa and there was a certain pedicure that couldn't be done if you were pregnant because of this reason.   Now I know that if I'm overdue I will try pushing on my ankle to start labor.  ok, probably not
