Anyone have tips on cutting those tiny little (sharp!) fingernails? I have cut one or two here and there, but have mostly just used a little baby file, as I am terrified of cutting a nail too deep and hurting her. Would appreciate any tricks you other moms have!

When I for it I put my finger on his and pull the skin back slightly so the nail sticks out more. You just roll the end of their finger back a bit to expose the nail more. Then put the clippers right under the further exposed nail to clip. This has worked fantastic for me. Not once has he been hurt by them.
After that I higly recomend baby scissors instead of clippers. I clipped the tip of DS's pinkie when he was about 3 months old with baby clippers. I will never use them on a baby again! Talk about tramatic for mommy! The scissors are much easier to be sure that you are only going to clip the nail and not any skin. I recomend having someone else help then they can hold on the the hand and uncurl it or keep it from moving and you can hold the finger and pull the flesh down away from the scissors with a thumb and cut with the other hand.
At 2 and 4 I still use the baby scissors on them.
I can't remember the exact time frame but the reasoning I beleive is that the attachment to the nailbed needs to solidify/mature too and could be damaged by clipping/cutting. Plus when they are so soft and tiny it is harder to cut them.
