I've been worried about storms too. My house was hit by a tornado a few years ago. So I panic now.

They say to put on a helmet during a tornado.

I've been searching for a baby helmet and can't find one. So I emailed my local meteorologist about it and he informed me that it's recommended for infants to be put in a carseat! I didn't know that. I almost gave away my carrier one I'm glad I didn't now.

The week after I had DD, there were horrible storms in our area. I was home alone with her & there was a tornado a few miles from our house. I was an emotional mess already & became hysterical. I took her to the basement & just held her close. This is great to know, because we are under storm watches again tonight!

Good to know!! How scary....I think I'd panic if I had LO by myself in a storm like that!

When a tornado hit here with Owen was two weeks old, I put him in his carseat when we got down into the cellar.

Living in FL we get the occasional tornado. It would scare the hell out of me if I had to deal with it on a regular basis like some of you! Scares me as it is because we don't have basements.

Our house was struck by lightening when LO was 8 weeks old. It was so scary because the house smelled on fire.

It was pouring rain, had to get LO out of the house instantly, which he was in the middle of feeding so he started screaming. No power so I couldnt get the garage open. I threw the dogs outside loose which pissed them off (pouring buckets). And took of in pouring rain to neighbors.

I mean it was so scary and unexpected and unplanned for.

I mean think about it. Your house is instantly on fire in the pouring rain. Go!
