I have gotten suggestions from friends to alternate Ibuprofen and Tylenol for my 1 year olds teething molars and fever. I am just not sure about it....do any of you do this? Does it work? TIA

I have done it for DS1, but only when he was super sick and had a high fever that wasn't going down. It did work for us though. For teething, I just use Ibuprofen.

All of this. I don't think it is necessary unless it is a crazy high fever that won't come down. Have you tried the Hyland's Teething Tablets? They are like crack to L. As soon as she gets them she calms down.

Ibuprofin is better at getting fevers down than tylenol, so the only time it makes sense to alternate is if the fever goes back up before you can give a second dosage of ibuprofin. I just use ibuprofin alone for teething as it's better for inflammation too.
Thank you guys. He has had a fever of 102.1-102.3 since last night.
@pupluv0410 - I'd keep an eye on the fever. It's not common to have that high of a fever from teething. It could just be a virus but if the fever doesn't crack, he could have an ear infection or something.
Like the other ladies said, I only alternate when he's super sick and his fever isn't breaking from the ibuprofen and I need tylenol in between.
