Thomas and I went to a child screening event today, and I thought I'd share some of the info I gathered. They ask questionnaires about communication, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, problem solving, and personal-social. I thought I'd share the questions they asked about communication, since it seems to be of great concern around here.
There were 3 options for answers, "yes", "sometimes", and "not yet". Yes = 10 points, Sometimes = 5 points, Not yet = 0 points. Babies who score above 30 are developing normally, they give activities if you score between 20 and 30, and below 20 they refer you for further assessment. The assessment was good for babies 13 mo 0d through 14 mo 30d.
I hope this helps to ease a few minds, as I know it helped me feel a little better.

I agree with @leilei7369 - I think they all do it at their own pace. FWIW - she gave Thomas credit for things I would not have. I was hoping this would help make people feel better, not worse. Sorry about that, guys!
