I take the zantac and now just started about 3 days ago with the gaviscon when i feel it coming up. It def helps, lasts longer than tums so ive been taking before bed. I wake up now around 5am and take a couple of tums but thats it. I was popping them every two hours overnight.
I take Pepcid and it has helped me way more than tums or anything else. I took it before getting pregnant as well since I have really bad reflux and it helped then too. I usually will take it before bed and with a glass of milk.
Alka seltzer tabs or baking soda water saves my life sometimes, I swear. The lemon heartburn alka seltzer isn't too bad, baking soda water ya just gotta plug the nose and chug.
May be worth a try until you can get something stronger. Acid reflux sucks!
prilosec is kicking in, so i feel slightlyyyy better. just worries me that it is this bad in the middle of the day, since normally nighttime is torture. i am afraid of the sun going down lol

That's how I feel every night! I dread getting in bed because that's when it really kicks in
I do 150 mg Zantac in the morning, a Prilosec 30 minutes before dinner, food activates it, then another 150 mg Zantac before bed. And Tums when needed, usually max 2 / day. Horrible feeling, especially because you are due at the end of the month. Good luck hope it gets bare able
I don't taste the acid during the day but I wake up choking on it in the middle of the night! I eat to cover up the taste and then bring out my 9" wedge pillow! I also can vomit up acid and it happens several times a week! I need to up my PPI dose! Just an FYI Tums can actually lead to more acid in the tummy! I don't know why, but my gastroenterologist told me to avoid taking as much as possible because it just feeds the problem. I was told this pre-pregnancy though!
Milk helped tremendously for my heartburn and reflux! I'm normally lactose intolerant but for the month I had reflux, I wasn't. Amazing how your body adjusts to what it needs!

Definitely try the warm milk, the older generation of women in my fam swear by it.
