Your LO's Fears

This past weekend we discovered Liam is afraid of elevators.  He would scream as soon as we got near one and especially when the doors closed.  I guess he didn't like the enclosed space?  Thankfully by day 3 he had gotten over it (we think).  He also screams when I use the changing tables in public bathrooms.  Laying there with the noise of the toilets flushing and the hand dryers going off just terrifies him. Poor baby.

Emma is strangely afraid of two owls I have on the dining room shelf.  She points at them and likes to look at them from afar, but as soon as I get her closer she pulls away.  She likes all other owls though. 

What is your LO scared of?

    The vacuum. When it's turned on, he shakes and cries hysterically.

    Needless to say, we don't get to vacuum very much.

    Annika ia afraid of being left behind. If she thinks she's being left behind, she will scream at the top of her lungs.

    My oldest has a fear of smoke detectors. He cannot stand when the little red light flashes on them. There have been times where he has refused to be in a room because he is terrified of the smoke detector.

    Another vacuum hater here. He starts sobbing as soon as he SEES it. Once I heard him scream from across the house and I was sure he'd hurt himself. Nope, just opened the closet with the vacuum.

    Barking dogs.  She loves to see the dogs in our neighborhood but when they bark it makes her nervous and clings to me.

    Cooper hates popping wheelies. If she's in the laundry basket and hubby is pulling her around it all giggles till he pops a wheelie. Same thing with the stroller. I thought she would be a dare devil by the way she lunges off of thing but she's got her weaknesses I guess

    Goats! And just specifically goats lol. And a million other things. The platapus thing phern or whatever. She doesn't like him. Probably because my H chases her around the house with it. She cries when I try to swing her in the swing. She doesn't really like climbing the stairs of the jungle gym. She gets really scared and doesn't want to move. I think because you can see through the holes and see you are high off the ground.

    Oh yes the vacuum!! I usually run it anyway because she needs to get over it. One time both her and the bulldog ran around hysterically after I turned it on. It was so funny. She ran circles around the kitchen and he ran circles outside.

    I got one stoic little kid.  We have permanent Halloween decorations up so he's used to bats and skeletons and spiders and such.  He loves the garbage truck and the vacuum.  He does seem to dislike ants though.  He stood in a hill a while back and got his legs bit up and now when he sees a hill he squats about a foot away and points at it. No terror or panic though.

    So far nothing. We were even out in the woods trying to finish up firewood and the chainsaw was going and nothing. The vacumn he chases around, the blender had a moment of wtf is that but that was it. He has tried to skydive off the couch and climb inside the fireplace. He seems to be afraid of naps, although im sure that's just my excuse for him not taking them lately.

    Random, but we were at Panera when a guy came out to refill the ice machine by dumping buckets of ice into it.  The sound _terrified_ Elissa.  Only time I've seen her that way.

    Emily is TERRIFIED of my parents' and only my parents' cat.  Absolutely flips her shit when it's anywhere near.  I have NO idea what the difference is between this and other cats to her.  She had no negative experience with it; she has behaved this way since the very first time she saw it.  Completely crawls out of her skin.  It's bizarre.

    Like others, Cam is TERRIFIED of the vacuum.  I don't blame him, I also hate it.

    He has a full blown meltdown when I pull it out and will run into a different room. It doesn't even have to be one. If it is on? Forget about it. Traumatized.
