DS's nursey was tan, white, and light blue. I loved it- so calming. We're team green but this one is navy, white, and light blue. I'll add white ruffle curtains if it's a girl.
If you want to add some more color, how about some book shelves with bright books on it?

this is how i feel about it too-- it's SUPER calming, so adding a bright pop of something (like orange which could technically work) seems to defeat the calm factor. hmmmmm
It's ok I'm stressing because I don't really have many decorative accessories in this baby's room. And I hate the way the sign I was painting for above the crib turned out. Hate it yet I feel compelled to keep trying to finish/fix it. I've become neurotic.
My big boy is bounding towards 4! Baby brother coming in October!
yes, i love it!! we have that same giraffe (in my son's room) and the same rocker now in nursery! I LOVE YOUR CHAIR!! which gives some pops of color, i am going to have to think about this. ughh

You will get so many accents in the coming months. Gifts, pics you want to frame, etc. i though DS's nursery was a little bare when he was born, and by the time he was 2 we didn't have nearly enough shelf/wall space for everything (and had moved to a bigger house)

Thanks...the chair was our one big splurge during first pregnancy. Maybe you can get some fun pillows to liven the room up but not go overboard? And I'm sure you know from DS but so much more crap will eventually make its way in there and brighten up the room (books, toys, additional frames, etc)
JenMatt2010 I love your room, especially the chair! However, the arrangements of your changing table bins are driving my OCD bonkers. Put the one that's "different" in the middle of the two that are the same! Please! Or at least tell me you did that so i feel better

That's what I was going to say. That room's going to be filled with brightly colored toys and stuff before too long anyway.
Iris born Halloween 2013! 6 lbs, 1 oz, 18 inches long
If it makes you feel any better, lime green was supposed to be my accent color. But, I ordered most of my stuff online and the colors didn't exactly match, so I sort of ditched the accent color theme, but will throw things in randomly.
I'm sure your nursery looks great without any accent....it's nautical, afterall, and blue and white is classic.

I don't expect we'll get anything decorative. Second baby and they're both boys so we're not having a shower or anything. The few people I think might bring gifts will probably only buy clothes or blankets/lovies or just bring food, or nothing... and I'm fine with that. I just feel like I'm falling down on the decorating compared to DS#1's room.
