Loss of twins

We found out on 8/6/13 after a year of trying we were expecting. On 9/9/13 we found out it was identical twins. We were so excited. Our  doctor was worried that the babies were not growing as the should. I had an hcg test on 9/10 my levels were 125,823 then on 9/12 they dropped to 117,767. After ultrasounds and waiting and blood work and more waiting, we found out the bad news yesterday. Unfortunately it was a total loss. Both twins were dissolved but for some reason the gestational sac is continuing to grow as if it is still containing the twins. I am scheduled for the d&c tomorrow. Very upset after a year of trying then to find out it was identical twins. Doctor said to allow 2 month before starting to try again. I am emotionally drained.

    So sorry! I hope and pray you will gain some comfort from this board. Thinking of you and hope the d&c goes well for you.

    Thank you all for the kind posts. The procedure went as expected. Now I am finding myself over emotional crying at the drop of a dime. Last night laying in bed I started crying before I even realized what I was doing. I assume this is normal after a d&c.
