What are you doing about bras??

Usually I wear I 34 DD, but those bras are barely keeping them in anymore and they hurt like crazy!! I have a 36 DD that I bought on accident but that isn't really much better. What should I do? Do I go to a larger cup and a larger size and if so, how much larger? Any suggestions are appreciated

Get fitted for a maternity bra. If you're bigger in the bust, its the only way to get a bit of comfort. I started wearing mine yesterday (7wks 2d) and i'm a 32G (UK sizing). I bought my mat bras in a 34G as it gives me room to grow a little. So much more comfortable!

Can someone explain to me how American bra sizes work? They don't make sense to me. Here we have the back size (32, 34, 36 etc) and the cup size is separate with no relation to the back size, so you can have anything from A,B,C,D,DD,E,EE,F,FF,G,GG etc. I've noticed that the US seems to stop at a DDD cup and then just adds numbers to the back size. So if i'm a 32G here, what would I be in the US?

I wear 38DD and I JUST bought these bras because for some reason I've been gaining weight in my chest the past year so now I don't know what to do lol. I really don't want to buy even bigger ones but it seems I will not have a choice.

It sounds the same. You can buy a 40A here or a 34G. It's just that stores tend to stock mostly 32A-40D and anything outside of that you go to specialty stores or order. Cup size has nothing to do with band size. But I have no idea how the cup sizes would compare from here to there.

Thanks for this. We don't have a triple D over here, but it seems like a lot of celebrities who would be classed as an F or G over here, claim to be DD or DDD. Either way, it doesn't ruin my life. I've just always been a bit baffled. I just wondered if it was different because clothes sizes are different, ie your size 10 is our size 14. I'm a size 10, so in the US I buy a size 6 which is great because the label on my jacket says i'm a 6, so everyone thinks i'm a skinny minnie! weeee! :-j

I personally wouldn't splurge on a high end maternity bra yet. Last time around I had to buy new bra's twice because I kept growing and growing. Probably could have used new ones one more time near the end, but I held out and lived bra-less at home or in sports bras.

I love the one size fits all bras that have no wires. I'm a 34b so. Itching crazy but those bras are great and will allow for some growth

I need to already invest in some new bras. I am normally a 32 DDD which I think is like at 32EE but I can't remember. I still wear my 34DD but they are too small, so now they are extra too small!

For the bigger boobed girls with a narrow rib cage Nordstrom or Dillard's is where to go. They know how to measure you and they have a wide range of sizes. You can also pick bras up at Nordstrom Rack too, which I do cause I'm a cheapo

although I have no idea about maternity bras, still lost on that!

If it's just the band size you need, Joann's sells extenders, which is what I did last time. Cup size I was able to make it through, but just barely, I probably should have gotten a size bigger.

I wouldn't get a maternity bra yet. Last time I just bought a bigger regular bra when I outgrew my normal one.

@chellbell20 unfortunately it's not just the band size.

it's the cups. The cups go up in size as the band size increases. I'm flowing out like a waterfall! I'm just gonna buy a cheap bra at target or Ross for the in between.

I never had one, I just wore a bigger regular bra. I switched to nursing bras after DD was born. Got those at motherhood maternity.

I bought something similar to this at nordstrom rack for like $7! it's like a bra/sports bra hybrid. the ones i got have padding so they work under regular clothes and they don't give you a uni-boob like sports bras tend to! they are super stretchy and comfy so i'll be able to wear them even if i get bigger.

i work in an office and they have worked under my work dresses and shirts just fine. i usually wear a 32D and these offer enough support and coverage for me (though not as much lift as my VS push-ups). they aren't exactly the most attractive thing ever, but i'm loving them.
