Posted on the breastfeeding board as well.I've been getting sharp pains in my lower right breast, below the nipple in the actual breast itself, for several weeks now. I'm 8wks pp. I mentioned this at my 6 wk pp visit and the NP didnt seem concerned or even examine the area so I didnt think too much of it. The last few days though I've been having a lot more pain, both my nipples turn white after pumping so I was thinking it might be vasospasm but I also have a small white dot on my right nipple too so I'm also thinking maybe it could be thrush? I was on antibiotics after I gave birth due to a bladder infection. I'd hate to think it was yeast and have to throw out all the frozen milk I stashed for LO's daycare so I'm hoping it's not that but I think it might be. Anyone have any insight? It's the right breast only that hurts but both nipples get white.
Also, LO's 2 month appointment is on Monday. Should I wait and ask her dr, who is also my pcp, or should I seek advice from my OB or find a LC?
Re: Thrush or vasospam?
Even if it is thrush, no need to throw away your pumped milk.
