    I had typed my whole response and it got eaten, then a brief response also got eaten. Damn Bump! Just know this:

    We got word yesterday that we are officially homestudy approved and in the pool of waiting families!

    1) What path are you taking in the Adoption/Fostering world? 
    We have been on the foster to adopt route but due to disappointing circumstances (see my other post) we are back to the drawing board. We are currently discussing international adoption (South Korea) or moving to a different county next year to foster-to-adopt there. Still very beginning stages :-(

    2) Who are you in the Adoption Triad? 
    Future adoptive parent
    3) Where in your process are you?
    See question 1 :-(
    4) Do you have any YAY(s) or UGH(s) you want to share from this past week? 
    UGHs would be our rejection from two foster agencies because they don't anticipate having any children in our requested age group for several years. YAY would be seeing how determined DH and I are to continue forward and seek other options to build our family. I surprised myself with my bounce-back tenacity to keep going after such a disappointment. YAY would also be getting some great encouragement from friends and family about our decision to adopt!
    5) Have any questions you would like to ask?
    What do you do when you feel discouraged/impatient/etc? I need ideas to give us "breaks"....I'm quickly seeing that this process can consume all your time, energy and relationships if you don't take time to step back sometimes.
    6) QOTD: What is your favorite Children's Book? What is your favorite adult (I don't mean X rated here..) book? 

    Favorite children's books - Corduroy, E.B. White's books, the Little Women series, Nancy Drew, Beverly Cleary's books, Anne of Green Gables....I'm a book nut!

    Favorite adult books - Jane Austen's novels, classic literature, biographies, anything by Sophie Kinsella or Nicholas Sparks

    I tried posting the Check-In a couple of times and it was eaten... finally I just copied and pasted from last week... I gave up! Stupid BUMP!!!

    3) Where in your process are you?
     
    Finished Pride, Assigned our Home Study Supervisor/Counselor, Background checks done and now finger prints tomorrow.  Moving along! 
    4) Do you have any YAY(s) or UGH(s) you want to share from this past week? 
     
    Yay for finishing PRIDE last week.  Met great people and enjoyed the class.  Yay for being assigned our social worker for the Home Study. 
     
    5) Have any questions you would like to ask?
     
    Nope, All good today :-)
     
    6) QOTD: What is your favorite Children's Book? What is your favorite adult (I don't mean X rated here..) book?   The Pokey Little Puppy (always loved this) and Pride and Prejudice.  Also like Ana Karenina.

    We are finishing our classes next week. Part 1 of the home study was done now we just need 2 more. Reference letters were sent out so hopefully all those will be back soon (one won't until mid October :/ ).

    4) Do you have any YAY(s) or UGH(s) you want to share from this past week?
    Yay- I feel like we are so close to being done. I really thought it would take longer but then again it could take years until we get to adopt.
    Ugh- I have been working on research for a new product to my work for almost 2 years. The supplier just changed the formulation so I have to redo almost everything I already did.

    5) Have any questions you would like to ask?
    None that I can think of right now.

    6) QOTD: What is your favorite Children's Book? What is your favorite adult (I don't mean X rated here..) book?
    My favorite book to read to DS (and the one he requests all the time for almost a year now) is Before You Were Mine. It is about an adopted dog and the boy wonders about what his life was like before he was his. I can't even remember books I read when I was little.
    Favorite (non x-rated) adult books: I read Gone Girl recently and liked it. I was so excited to read the new Dan Brown book because I loved all the other ones but then I lost my Kindle on a plane.

    Still trying to choose an agency, we have a house on the market that we are waiting to sell that will cover our costs.

    4) YAYs or UGHs

    Nothing adoption related- Did have a fab girls weekend at a friends house

    5) Books!  I love books.  Childhood- so many to pick from.  I loved the Velveteen Rabbit, the Little house series.  Adult- I've been into the JD Robb In Death series lately when I'm not nose first in a textbook.

    March 2014 - RE appt. 
    April 2014- Saline sono all's good, terrible SA results - 8 sperm found all abnormal
    May 2014- Fert Urology- Bilateral varicoceles, recommend Donor Sperm
    12/2014-  Surprise natural BFP  EDD 7/31/15 Plan:  Starting foster to adoption, natural cycles

    3) Where in your process are you? We are in post-placement pre-finalization visits with our social worker

    4) Do you have any YAY(s) or UGH(s) you want to share from this past week? 

    Yay: Baby is adorable and smiling and cooing.
    Ugh: Not really an ugh- just a hard--- watching baby's birth parent grieve just sucks. I'm glad we get to witness it, but it's still really hard.

    5) Have any questions you would like to ask? What was your time to finalization after placement?

    6) QOTD: What is your favorite Children's Book? What is your favorite adult (I don't mean X rated here..) book?

    The Very Hungry Catepillar, any dystopian adolescent fiction
    Adult? Hmmmm.... I love to read. I eat books. But I'll go with Pride and Prejudice.

    3) Where in your process are you? Just waiting to be licensed.

    4) Do you have any YAY(s) or UGH(s) you want to share from this past week? Yay that we just passed our home inspection today and our homestudy was completed last week. Just waiting for our license to come.

    3) Where in your process are you?
    Going to attend the info meeting in November and start the process (The agency we are going with requires that you attend an info meeting before continuing with the process)

    4) Do you have any YAY(s) or UGH(s) you want to share from this past week? 
    Our cat got super sick this week and stopped eating  :(  (UGH!)  but (YAY!) She came home from the vet yesterday after being there for 3 days.  She is eating a little and playing.  So we hope she feels better over the weekend.

    5) Have any questions you would like to ask?
    Not right now.

    6) QOTD: What is your favorite Children's Book? What is your favorite adult (I don't mean X rated here..) book? 
    Children - I loved Charlotte's Web and A Wrinkle In Time when I was a kid; Adult - I read urban fantasy books.. My fav series right now is the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire.
