Babies: 9 - 12 Months

9 month old - Sleeping Habits

Hi everyone,
I am usually the one to read and learn but I have been having some sleeping troubles with my 9.5 month old girl.

She goes to sleep around 8-8:30. Around 3am every night she is up and just wanting a bottle. I have tried water, CIO (for about 10 min), and refusing to give her a bottle. If I don't give her a bottle she will not go back to sleep. When I do give her the bottle she only has about 2 ounces before she is sleeping again. Also, she never took a binky..

Help? :-)

Re: 9 month old - Sleeping Habits

  • I would give her the bottle for a couple of days and see if it stops. If it continues, I would let her cry it out. I try to always wait for at least 10 min. I hate to hear my baby cry but I have come to understand that sometimes you just have to let them be. Take today for example, he woke up screaming like he was hungry. I ran down stairs to get a bottle and by the time I was back he was out! Babies go through so much learning and development that things get out of wack.

If you continue to give her bottle then she will get habitual to this and I am telling you, that will be worst habit for her.
