Napping with baby

My LO will be 2 weeks old tomorrow and some mornings we will nap in bed together for a couple of hours. I don't really get into a deep sleep since I am aware that she is there, but it has been so nice to catch a few extra Zs while cuddling. I find it to be a wonderful bonding experience.
I'm not sure if I want to continue doing it though since I know there are risks involved, even though I feel like I'm very careful.
Does anyone else nap with their LO?
I just want to get some insight from other mommies.

All the time. I personally am not too worried, as long as we follow the guidelines like @AFwifelife mentioned.

DH is much more nervous about it than I am though. Our midwife gave us two tips - first, sleep with her on you and tuck a sheet up under LO's armpits and then down around you (this way, you don't have to worry about LO rolling off of you). The second, which I find more comfortable, is to wear baby in a soft carrier (we have the K'tan) and then sleep. Of course, both of these mean that LO is on their stomach, which I am ok with as long as she is on me (flame away if you want!), but I know some people wouldn't be comfortable with that.

If I don't sleep with Allen I won't get any sleep at all. With a 5 week old and a 2 year old I have to get some rest. He just doesn't want to be by himself at all.

I do it. He lays on my tummy and we sleep like that for about an hour.

My mom took a nap with my oldest sister when she was born. My mom woke up with her chin resting on my sister's head, leaving a small dent in her head! It filled out, my sister has a normal shaped head, but omg! I wonder if my mom told my sister about this!

We take an afternoon nap together in bed. I like to snuggle him, and he is usually insistent upon me holding him at that time of the day too. So i hold him until he falls asleep in my chest than slide him next to me in bed.
I put pillows on the other side of him and I don't have a pillow near his head. I feel safe with him in bed with me.

Like other posters, I nap with DS in the mornings after nursing. I'm a light sleeper anyway so I'm not worried about rolling over onto him or anything.

I have done it a few times but it scares the shit out of me. I wake up in a panic every time I do it so I quit. Luckily she is getting a lot better about sleeping in her bassinet.

I don't sleep over night with her but after a loooonnng night with a fussy baby, at around 630 in the morning she is usually ready to sleep after feeding so I will lay her next to me and she seems to sleep so good for a few hours, helps me get a little shut eye before the next feeding. She is almost a week old and I've been doing it since the first night in the hospital, I agree its really good bonding to me.

I don't plan in napping with my son once we get home, but because he hit circumcised today and is crabby because he is really starting to wake up. (Per nurse staff) I did skin to skin contact with him for an hour so I could sleep. I only felt ok with it because my H was here to watch us.

Add me to te lost as well. In the mornings after feeding and changing I come back to bed with DH and with LO on my chest. I start out propped up and just sitting until DH wales up but usually slide on down and put her on her side next to me. We're all three in and out of sleep and never in a deep sleep so I'm not worried. I don't wish to continue this much longer but it so nice to cuddle with my new little family.

When DS was little, if I didn't nap with him I wouldn't have gotten any sleep. I'm pretty sure I'll nap with LO as well.

I always enjoyed the bonding time and cuddles.

I'm glad to see that many others do this as well. H is usually in bed with us too so were both in and out of sleep the whole time. We lay her in between us and face her, but we make sure there are no covers or pillows that will get to her. I love the cuddle time with my new little family too.

I have napped with all my babies. While I am uncomfortable having them in bed with both of us at night, napping with my baby is a great way for me to get a good nap too. We can spread out more in the bed as well and I don't get nervous at all about rolling over or anything like that

I haven't napped with LO in the bed (I'll probably start today, though, with DH going back to work), but I frequently fall asleep in the rocking chair or on the couch with her laying in my chest or in my arm. I just put a pillow under each arm so my arms don't drop off her.

I bedshare for naps. It makes me nervous and it will stop soon, but it is the only way she'll nap in the morning and I need that sleep to survive

It makes me too nervous to do that, but I don't think there's a problem with it if you're making sure the baby is as safe as possible.

I bring Henry into my bed when my dh leaves early for work. Just for an hour or so. I sleep on my side facing him and holding the covers and pillow away. I definitely sleep lighter than normal but I will take what I can get

I sleep propped up with him laying on my chest for a while after nighttime feedings to help with digestion since he has reflux, it's maybe just for like 20 mins or so. I don't really sleep well since I'm basically sitting up and I'm aware he's there, but I have to snooze or I would just be sitting awake holding him to make sure he gets all his burps/ spit-up out before laying him down.

During the last hour to two hours of sleep in the early morning hours she sleeps with me. If I didn't put her in bed with me and get some sleep I wouldn't be able to function. I nurse her while laying down as well.

I'm so happy others do this. I feel like if I didn't I wouldn't get as much sleep. LO does well in the middle of the night but in the morning she doesn't want to be in her bassinet for longer than a half hour it seems like. So I have been tking her out and laying her next to me.
