WDYT of the name Faye? Honest thoughts/opinions? Do you see it as more of a middle name or first name--or even a double first name? Middle names for Faye? TIA!
I like it! Sarah Faye is a great double first name. Middle name suggestions for Faye.. Faye Cosette, Faye Juliana, Faye Rosalie, Faye Alexandria, Faye Eliana, Faye Annabelle/a, Faye Katherine
I really like Faye as a fn. I have Mae on my short list and think they have a very similar feel; sweet and simple. I do like it as a part of a double fn as in Mary Faye and Sarah Faye.
Fae (spelled this way for some inexplicable reason) is my youngest sister's MN. It was my mom's favorite name, and since they give my sister a weird family name, she kind of hoped she'd go by her MN instead (she doesn't formally; but she is called Fae maybe 20% of the time). I think it's a nice name. I like its simplicity. I prefer Mae or Bay.
I think it's pretty, though I have a bit of a bad association with it because the actress who played Faye in A Secret Circle drove me nuts. She's so annoying! It also reminds me of fae as in "the fae" or faeries/fairies. It's a fine name, but not one I really love.
I think it's a great first name! Very simple and clean feeling. It would pair nicely with a longer middle name as PPs have pointed out. I've heard it more often as a MN but really like it as a FN!
It's the name of one of my grandma's best friends, so I have positive associations with it. Growing up, it was the middle name of several classmates because they were named after family members. I kind of like it.
My LO's middle name is Faye but we often call her by it. I love it either as FN or MN. Simple & Beautiful. Also I like that spelling, that's how we spelled it too.
I'm not really a fan. It sounds a little dated to me (not in a good, vintage-y way) and my first thought, to be 100% honest, is that it sounds a little backwoods to me.

I didn't think about this. I always assumed my parents just spelled my sister's MN Fae because it looks like Mae, and Mom probably didn't like the Y in Faye. I didn't realize (or remember, maybe?) that Fae would also be legit because of the faerie thing.
....And my parents NEVER would have chose the Fae spelling for faeries. Those people hate fantasy/sci-fi with a fiery passion.

You should ask them! The first association I have with Fae would definitely be fairies, but I AM into fantasy/sci-fi things. Maybe they just preferred the spelling without the y, like you said.
