Moving Update

Back in July I posted that the movers significantly damaged our stuff. Almost every piece of furniture. For the past two months I have been fighting with them. They sent out furniture repairers to do everything but the couch. Well quite a few of the repairs were sub-par. Just to paint the picture, when we pointed it out to the owner of the repair company his response was "It doesn't look that bad".

The moving company itself has been terrible. The GM actually told me that he didn't care what the terms and conditions said in the contract I signed, that if I didn't want to do what he said (which was NOT inline with the terms and conditions), then I could do "what I have to do". I then escalated at that point to another gentleman who was equally no help, but at least advised that yes, the terms and conditions of the CONTRACT are binding (really - who could have known.. apparently NOT the GM).

So here I sit, with a house full of damaged furniture, and a company who will not return phone calls or emails. So I just submitted my complaints to the BBB as well as the Dept of Consumer Affairs. Let's see if this gets them to do the right thing.

    That's crazy! I feel so bad for you. I hope it all gets resolved in your favor, as it should!

    What's the name of the company, so we all know not to ever use them?

    Sorry you're going through this. I would forward a complaint to their corporate office as well.

    @trademama - if u knew one I would do it lol. I'm trying to give them a chance to make things right. My next step will be a lawyer.

    @jayro - it was Bekins A-1 Movers. We went with a big company thinking our stuff had a better chance. We were wrong.

    CNJ- I will be forwarding the stuff I submitted, although the BBB goes to corporate as well.

    Beaubecca - I am furious. My patience has officially expired.
